Closure helps law enforcement search evidence and solve crime.

Public servants across the U.S. use Closure to expedite investigations into cold cases, homicides, gang conflicts, sexual assault, and other serious offenses. We’re live with police departments and prosecutors across the country, reducing evidence overload throughout the criminal justice system.

Closure is an intentionally tight-knit team of ambitious ex-Palantir and ex-IDF engineers and operators. We operate with a high speed, high integrity, and high autonomy, backed by reputable investors including Y Combinator, CRV, Pathlight, and others.

• Role Description:

  • Backend-Depth, AI-Grounding: We’re looking for a backend engineer with deep experience & interest in applying AI in the real world.

    • Backend-Grounding: You can build resilient, secure distributed systems, with comfort across programming languages (esp. Python, REACT, etc.) and infrastructure providers.

    • AI-Depth: Experience deploying LLMs, VLMs, and/or other ML in real-world settings. Bonus if you've worked with or are excited by agentic experiences-systems that reason, plan, and take actions across data.

    • Data Versatility: Designed RAG or similar pipelines for unstructured data, and know how to build for structured data too (query planning, semantic modeling, or structured reasoning).

  • Adaptability: We move fast, and new models / approaches to infrastructure are constantly coming online. You are naturally curious (and keep up with) the latest in AI.

Please note: this is NOT a 9-to-5, this is a founding role. Proactivity and hard work required.

• Additional Details:

  • Comp
    • Salary: $135k-$215k, with potential for adjustments based on experience and seniority
    • Equity: Meaningful ownership stake at founding-hire levels
