Accountant (Remote/ Work from Home Position)

Job Description  

• Perform general accounting and bookkeeping according to generally accepted accounting principles or industry specific accounting requirements including IFRS and US GAAP.
• Process invoices including preparation and posting.
• Ensure that accounting records are complete.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Review similar work prepared by client staff.
• Deliver accurate reports to clients worldwide in accordance with agreed deadlines.
• Attend to queries raised by clients while interacting with managers, colleagues and counterparties in a professional and proactive manner.
• Assist in the preparation for annual audits.
• Proactively participate in group tasks and projects as required by the account manager.
• Handle ad hoc assignments.

 Qualifications and Experience 

• ACCA level 1 to fully Qualified ACCA.
• 3-5 years of prior experience in a similar role.
• Candidates with audit background and/or experience in SQL will be given priority.
• Experience in the use of accounting software preferably QBO or XERO.
• Ability to take responsibility and account for his/her own work.
• Hardworking, detail oriented and ability to work independently.
• Ability to work well in a team atmosphere.
• Professional and personable demeanor.
• Proven solid verbal and written communication skills.
• An analytical individual, with a keen eye for finer details.
• Proficiency in spreadsheets such as MS Excel.
• Ability to work on a flexible schedule preferably from 1 pm to 10 pm Mauritian time.
