Java Engineer

We are looking for a talented Junior Java Engineer. As a Java Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and configuring applications to meet business process and application requirements. You will collaborate with team members to support team performance and delivery objectives, while contributing to key technical and business decisions in collaboration with multiple teams. Additionally, you will participate in testing, debugging, and code reviews, support the resolution of technical issues, and contribute to application improvements. You will also have the opportunity to further develop your technical skills while working within an Agile/Scrum environment.

You will be joining a FinTech project for a dynamic banking organization active in seven countries, with total assets of €60.0 billion and 13,512 employees. With a total network of 700 branches in Greece and abroad, it offers a comprehensive range of financial products and services to its retail and corporate customers. It holds a strategic position in retail and business banking in Bulgaria and Serbia, as well as offering distinguished Wealth Management services in Cyprus, Luxembourg and London and is also present in Romania. Until now, they had build the biggest Omnichannel in the area of technology in the GR market regarding the FinTech area. They had already implement more than 10 Scrum Teams and now they expand their portfolio of services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6 months -1 year of professional experience in software development, ideally with Java.
• Good knowledge of Java and Object-Oriented Programming principles.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot / Spring Framework and relational databases.
• Basic experience in developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Basic understanding of Git and version control practices.
• Ability to work effectively within an Agile/Scrum team.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn and develop technically.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to Microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure / Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Familiarity with CI/CD and Configuration & Release Management.
