Engineering Manager - Python/React.js

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Python Engineering Manager to lead product engineering initiatives, drive technology strategy, and oversee the development of scalable enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong expertise in Python, Django, React, cloud technologies, and modern software architecture.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and manage product engineering teams, driving innovation and strategic initiatives aligned with business goals.

- Provide technical leadership across Python-based application development using Django and related technologies.

- Work closely with Product Owners and Product Management teams to understand features, epics, and business requirements and translate them into technical deliverables.

- Drive architecture and design discussions to build scalable, modular, and maintainable software solutions.

- Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

- Ensure implemented features are unit tested, meet quality standards, and are ready for integration into the product.

- Guide engineering teams in developing backend services, APIs, and frontend components using Python, Django, and React.

- Drive database design, development, and performance optimization using MySQL.

- Lead cloud-based application development and deployment across AWS, GCP, or Azure environments.

- Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automation practices, and efficient software delivery processes.

- Ensure adherence to coding standards, software design principles, architectural patterns, and engineering best practices.

- Mentor and guide engineering teams, promote technical excellence, and improve overall development productivity.

- Collaborate with business and product stakeholders to define technology roadmaps and prioritize engineering initiatives.

- Identify technical challenges, evaluate emerging technologies, and recommend improvements to enhance application performance, scalability, and reliability.

Mandatory Skills & Experience :

- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, or product engineering.

- Strong expertise in Python programming and backend application development.

- Extensive experience with Django framework.

- Good understanding of React and modern frontend development.

- Strong experience with MySQL, database design, and query optimization.

- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure.

- Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, and design patterns.

- Experience leading engineering teams and managing product development initiatives.

- Ability to drive technical strategy, architecture decisions, and engineering roadmaps.

- Experience collaborating with Product Owners and business stakeholders to ensure successful product delivery.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Good to Have :

- Experience with Workato for enterprise integration and workflow automation.

- Exposure to microservices architecture and distributed systems.

- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

- Experience with REST APIs and enterprise application integrations.

- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and cloud-native application development.

Educational Qualification :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
