Technical Project Manager - Data and Analytics

We are seeking an experienced Data Project Manager to lead and manage end-to-end delivery of data and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, stakeholder engagement, data platforms, analytics programs, and cross-functional team leadership. The role requires driving delivery excellence, governance, risk management, and business value realization across data modernization, reporting, integration, AI, and cloud transformation projects.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Project Planning and Delivery:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of data and analytics programs.
• Define project scope, objectives, milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
• Develop and maintain project plans, RAID logs, and governance reports.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet quality expectations.

Stakeholder Management:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, data architects, and engineering teams.
• Facilitate requirement gathering workshops and project steering meetings.
• Provide executive-level status reporting and communicate project progress effectively.

Data Strategy and Governance:

• Drive implementation of data governance frameworks and data quality initiatives.
• Coordinate activities related to data migration, master data management, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure adherence to organizational security, privacy, and data management standards.

Delivery Governance and Reporting:

• Establish project governance, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms.
• Track program health using project dashboards and metrics.
• Present progress, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans to leadership.

Risk and Issue Management:

• Identify project risks, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints.
• Develop mitigation and contingency plans.
• Drive resolution of project issues and escalations.

Team and Vendor Management:

• Lead cross-functional teams comprising data engineers, analysts, BI developers, architects, QA engineers, and business SMEs.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and implementation partners.
• Manage team capacity planning and resource allocation.

Cloud and Data Platform Initiatives:

• Oversee projects involving data warehousing, data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), business intelligence and reporting, and AI/ML enablement programs.

Continuous Improvement:

• Promote Agile and DevOps best practices.
• Drive automation, process optimization, and operational efficiencies.
• Capture lessons learned and implement continual service improvements.

Requirements:

• Experience: 10 to 15 Years.
• 10+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in project/program management.
• Proven experience delivering data and analytics projects.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, data governance, reporting and analytics, and cloud data platforms.
• Experience managing distributed teams and global stakeholders.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
• Expertise in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
• Preferred Technical Skills: Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, SQL, AWS Data Services, Talend, Apache Spark
• Preferred Certifications: PMP / PRINCE2 Agile Scrum Certifications, Azure Data Engineer / Azure Fundamentals, AWS Cloud Certifications.
