QA Automation Engineer with Playwright

Job Summary

Lead Quality Engineer role focused on designing and executing advanced automation strategies using Java scripting and Playwright in a hybrid work model. The role spans end to end quality ownership across complex enterprise applications partnering closely with cross functional teams to drive defect prevention robust test coverage and predictable releases while enabling customer trust and organizational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Drive end to end quality strategy for complex enterprise applications by defining scalable test approaches that fully leverage Java scripting and Playwright automation to improve release reliability and reduce defect leakage across day shift hybrid teams.
• Design and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright and Java scripting that enable reusable test components efficient regression execution and consistent validation of critical business workflows for enterprise customers.
• Develop comprehensive test plans and detailed test cases for functional regression and integration testing that accurately reflect business rules and system interactions while optimizing coverage for critical risk areas.
• Coordinate closely with product owners and business analysts to translate user stories and acceptance criteria into clear test scenarios that reduce ambiguity and support faster more predictable delivery cycles.
• Collaborate with developers to implement shift left quality practices by reviewing technical designs and code changes identifying potential risk areas early and promoting testability improvements within the application architecture.
• Analyze test results and production issues to identify quality trends root causes and recurring patterns then recommend targeted improvements in automation suites test data and validation rules to prevent future defects.
• Oversee execution of automated and manual test suites in a hybrid work environment ensuring efficient utilization of test environments accurate reporting of defects and timely feedback to stakeholders across day shift operations.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for test tooling process efficiency and metrics tracking by evaluating emerging practices in Playwright automation and Java scripting and adopting those that strengthen organizational quality culture.
• Provide expert guidance to peers on effective use of Playwright features such as cross browser testing trace analysis and parallel run configurations to minimize cycle time while preserving thorough validation of customer journeys.
• Partner with release management and operations teams to define quality gates entry and exit criteria and readiness assessments that safeguard production stability and uphold customer confidence in business critical applications.
• Document clear test artifacts including execution reports defect summaries and risk assessments that enable transparent communication with stakeholders and support informed decisions on release readiness.
• Engage with cross functional teams in a hybrid setting to align on quality expectations clarify test scope and reconcile conflicting priorities so that overall delivery objectives are met without compromising system reliability.

Qualifications

• Apply strong hands on expertise in Java scripting and Playwright automation tools to design resilient test frameworks troubleshoot complex issues and ensure high maintainability of test assets over multiple release cycles.
• Utilize experience in Property and Casualty Insurance processes to create test scenarios that reflect real world policy billing and claims behaviors where such domain knowledge is applicable to the product.
• Draw on knowledge of Life and Annuities Insurance concepts when relevant to the application context to validate calculations lifecycle events and compliance rules through meaningful domain aware test coverage.
• Leverage nine to thirteen years of quality engineering experience in enterprise environments to make sound decisions on test scope risk prioritization and defect severity while collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Adapt comfortably to a hybrid work model and day shift schedule by using remote collaboration tools structured communication practices and disciplined time management to sustain consistent quality outcomes without travel requirements.

Certifications Required

ISTQB Advanced Test Automation Engineer or equivalent automation certification focused on Java based frameworks and modern web testing tools.
