About the role
As a Senior Full Stack Java Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications that deliver exceptional user experiences and support critical business objectives. You will be a valued member of the engineering team and work collaboratively with architects, product owners, designers, developers, and other technology stakeholders to build innovative cloud-based solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and maintain full stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, JavaScript, SQL, and AWS technologies.
- Build reusable front-end components and scalable back-end services to support ongoing application development initiatives.
- Translate business requirements, wireframes, and technical designs into high-quality, maintainable code.
- Design and integrate RESTful APIs and messaging solutions to enable seamless system communication.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, security, and reliability across multiple browsers and devices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and implement innovative technology solutions.
- Leverage AI-powered development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and delivery efficiency.
Work model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring up to 3 days per week in a client or Cognizant office in Irving TX or Minneapolis MN. What you need to have to be considered
- Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, JavaScript, SQL, and MySQL.
- Experience building and deploying cloud-based solutions usingAWS.
- 8+ years of experience as Full stack developer
- Hands-on experience withReact.js and modern front-end development practices.
- Experience designing, developing, and integratingRESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging platforms such asKafka.
- Understanding of modern authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JSON Web Tokens (JWT).
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such asGitHub Copilot, Claude, Agentic AI tools, or similar technologies.
- Proven problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills within Agile development environments.
These will help you stand out:
- Experience building highly scalable and high-performance web applications.
- Familiarity with modern front-end build tools, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and cloud-native application development.
- Experience working in large enterprise or client-facing environments.
- Passion for emerging technologies, AI-enabled software engineering, and continuous learning
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 81,337 to $163,00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
