We're looking for a Building Surveyor to join our Colliers Project Leaders team in Auckland.

This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your career within a leading property and project consultancy. Working alongside experienced Building Surveyors and project professionals, you'll gain exposure to a diverse range of consultancy services, including building inspections, technical due diligence, defect investigations, maintenance planning, insurance assessments, and project management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake building surveys including condition assessments, technical due diligence inspections, measured surveys, access audits, and compliance reviews
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, schedules, and client deliverables
  • Carry out defect assessments, investigations, and maintenance planning activities
  • Assist with insurance assessments, reinstatement projects, and claims-related work
  • Support the delivery of project management services including contract administration, procurement, and project coordination
  • Monitor construction works and provide site observations and progress reporting
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute technical advice and recommendations
  • Liaise directly with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities
  • Assist with business development activities and contribute to maintaining strong client relationships
  • Contribute to a high-performing team culture focused on technical excellence and client outcomes

The Value You'll Add

  • Degree qualified in Building Surveying, Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline
  • Approximately 2 to 4 years' experience in building surveying, consultancy, construction, property, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of building construction methods, building pathology, and maintenance planning principles
  • Understanding of relevant New Zealand building legislation, codes, and industry standards
  • Ability to undertake inspections and prepare professional reports with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills
  • Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Proactive and client-focused, with a collaborative approach to working within project teams
  • Working towards, or interested in pursuing, NZIBS and RICS accreditation
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Full New Zealand driver's license
