The Colliers Engineering and Design team specialises in civil, infrastructure, water engineering, town planning and urban design. Key services provided to developers in this service line include site assessment and due diligence, planning approvals and engineering design through to completion of construction.

We are seeking an experienced Project Leader - Structural (Built Form) for a role in our Subiaco office. You will be an integral member of our team delivering quality services on projects from around Australia.

You will be involved in the structural design and delivery of some of Perth’s largest and unique building projects focused in the commercial, retail, health, industrial, high rise and education sectors.

Our Built Form team are industry leaders, passionate about tackling the complex and sophisticated challenges of the built environment, to deliver innovative solutions that create bespoke outcomes to satisfy client and community benefits.

Colliers Engineering & Design have a strong workflow backed by a repeat client base which covers all facets of Built Form work inclusive of high-rise residential and commercial developments, retail, bulky goods, offices, industrial warehouses, hotels, education, aged care and health projects.

Role Responsibilities include:

  • Leading teams of engineers and modellers to deliver high quality structural solutions to a range of complex projects
  • Liaising with and coordinating various stakeholders including clients, architects, project managers, contractors and other design consultants.
  • All aspects of design in structural engineering with a focus on Built Form projects, specifically Post Tensioned and mid-high rise concrete structures with Etabs experience.
  • Preparation of design sketches and details for drafting by technical staff and oversee the design development and documentation.
  • Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs.
  • Meeting our client expectations of projects being delivered on time and with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Attending site for inspections.

We are keen to hear from candidates with 7 or more years’ experience who have a strong technical base and want to grow and develop their engineering skills. You will receive mentoring and support from Project Directors and technical leaders, to develop and tailor your role to suit your strengths and passions to support career growth.

  • Tertiary level qualifications in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 7+ years plus experience in a consulting environment.
  • Strong and proven leadership & communication skills to liaise and engage with clients and other engineers.
  • Ability to lead a project, manage budget and programs to meet clients project needs.
  • Strong fundamental structural engineering, practical understanding, proactive high-level thinking, and high attention to detail.
  • Exposure to developing structural design across a range of project cycles utilising relevant standards and best practice methodologies.
