The Role

As a Senior Salesforce MultiCloud Developer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing technical solutions across multiple Salesforce Clouds, including Sales, Service, Core, Loyalty Management, Marketing Cloud, Agentforce and Data Cloud. Collaborating closely with Solution Architects and cross-functional technology teams, you will lead the technical design and implementation of Salesforce solutions that enhance customer engagement, loyalty and operational efficiency.

A Senior Developer acts as a subject matter expert, ensuring that best practices are followed in code development, platform architecture, data modelling and integration strategies. This role demands deep technical knowledge, a strategic mindset, and the ability to both mentor and line-manage junior developers, supporting their performance, development and growth within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and customisation of complex Salesforce solutions, focusing on CRM, Loyalty Management, Service Cloud and Agentforce.
• Utilise advanced Apex, Visualforce, Lightning components and other Salesforce technologies to extend our capabilities.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure the functionality, performance and reliability of Salesforce solutions.
• Perform unit and integration testing.
• Support user acceptance testing to validate solutions against requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Architect scalable, maintainable and flexible solutions within the Salesforce platform that meet business requirements and anticipate future needs.
• Ensure solutions are optimally integrated with existing enterprise architecture.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews and architecture discussions as part of an Agile delivery team.
• Tackle complex technical issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis and solution implementation.
• Design and implement robust integration patterns between Salesforce clouds and external systems, focusing on data consistency, security and performance.
• Lead the development of data models, sharing models, permission structures and governance practices within Salesforce.
• Monitor, analyse and optimise the performance of Salesforce solutions, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency and meet scalability demands.
• Collaborate with Solution/Technical Architects and other internal technology teams to define and implement technical strategies for Salesforce solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
• Guide the development team through complex coding challenges and architectural decisions.
• Mentor and line-manage junior Salesforce developers and engineers, supporting performance, development, engagement and career growth.
• Promote best practices in coding, configuration and continuous integration/delivery, while fostering a culture of excellence, accountability and innovation within the team.
• Keep abreast of the latest Salesforce releases, features, technologies and best practices.
• Advocate for the adoption of new tools and technologies that can enhance business outcomes.

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours

Essential

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Salesforce development, with a proven track record across Salesforce CRM, Service Cloud and related platform capabilities such as Agentforce.
• At least 2 years in a senior or lead role.
• 6+ years of experience with JavaScript.
• Experience building scalable, maintainable Salesforce Flow solutions.
• Strong expertise in Apex, Lightning components, SOQL and SOSL.
• Experience with Salesforce integrations using REST APIs, middleware, Platform Events and other integration tools.
• Advanced knowledge of Salesforce Tooling and Metadata.
• Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering and translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in architecting and implementing complex Salesforce integrations and customisations.
• Strong foundation in CRM principles, data modelling and software architecture.
• Salesforce Developer Certification, Platform Developer II, Salesforce Administrator and any relevant advanced certifications.
• Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub and Salesforce DX.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with experience mentoring developers.
• Experience delivering AI, Agentforce and automation solutions using technologies such as Salesforce Agentforce, Data Cloud, Prompt Builder, Agent Script, Claude, APIs and workflow automation tools.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive and analytical approach to challenges.
• Ability to think strategically while maintaining a hands-on focus on solution delivery.
• Comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across business units.
• Passionate about clean code, maintainable architecture and continuous improvement.
• Highly organised, with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
• Collaborative team player who thrives in cross-functional environments.
• Confident in providing day-to-day people leadership, including line management, coaching, feedback and supporting the growth of junior team members.
• Committed to self-learning and staying current with Salesforce innovations and ecosystem trends.
• Strong communicator with the ability to explain complex technical ideas in a simple, accessible manner.

Desirable

• Previous experience line-managing, including supporting performance, development and career growth.
• Additional Salesforce certifications related to specific clouds (e.g. Service Cloud Consultant, Marketing Cloud Consultant).
• Experience with Loyalty Management, Salesforce Voice, Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Agentforce and/or Amazon Connect.
