Energy storage is no longer the future of power management - it's the present. As part of our 30+ member Product Marketing team based in Prague's Holešovice district, you will be a driving force behind our InteliNeo range, at the centre of ComAp's push into the energy transition.
As Junior Product Owner, you will act as a technical steward of the InteliNeo: translating requirements from the Product Manager, Sales, and customers into functional specifications that our R&D teams build into working systems. You will be the critical link ensuring that what gets developed genuinely reflects how BESS operates in the field - not just what looks good on paper.
At ComAp, we develop control units that manage and monitor energy sources, helping prevent power outages in critical infrastructure such as hospitals, banks, and data centers. Our controllers are installed worldwide across industries and the energy sector - and BESS is where that story is heading next.
What we're looking for:
We're looking for someone passionate about energy technologies and eager to help shape the future of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Whether you already have experience working with BESS, DER (Distributed Energy Resources), or power management systems, or you're a recent graduate with a strong technical background and a genuine interest in energy storage, we'd love to hear from you.
You'll work closely with experienced Product Managers, Product Owners, and R&D teams, learning how energy storage solutions are designed, developed, and deployed around the world. We are looking for someone who enjoys understanding complex technical systems, solving problems, and translating customer or business needs into practical product improvements.
Knowledge of battery technologies, inverters, battery management systems, renewable energy integration, or power generation concepts is an advantage, but we are ready to support motivated candidates who are keen to develop in these areas.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone curious, analytical, and willing to learn, who wants to build products that bring real value to customers and support the global energy transition.
Your responsibilities:
- Translate BESS product and customer requirements into functional specifications that reflect real-world operating behaviour
- Analyze and identify gaps or change requests from internal stakeholders (Sales, subsidiaries, distributors) and customers (technicians and end users)
- Collaborate closely with the Product Manager, other Product Owners, and HW/SW teams (architects, developers, testers, etc.)
- Gather and process requirements from colleagues or directly from customers and manage the product backlog
- Ensure development scope preserves and enhances system reliability, rather than adding disconnected or unsupported functionality
- Prepare documentation covering all aspects of projects, including risks and mitigation strategies
- Support troubleshooting of customer issues and internal technical challenges related to BESS integration
- Communicate across R&D departments (e.g. Communication team, other Product Owners, HMI team, PC team, etc.)
- Occasionally travel abroad to visit customers (typically up to one week every two months)
Your profile:
Must-have
- University degree (or final-year student) in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Power Systems, or a related technical field
- Strong interest in energy storage, renewable energy, or power management systems
- Analytical thinking and the ability to understand technical concepts and system behaviour
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
- Proactive and self-driven personality, comfortable owning the link between product needs and technical delivery
- Fluent English, spoken and written - you will collaborate with our global teams
Nice-to-have
- Experience with BESS, DER, renewable energy systems, power generation, or related technologies through work, internships, projects, or thesis work
- Familiarity with battery technologies, inverters, or battery management systems
- Basic understanding of AC/DC systems, synchronization, frequency, or power factor
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, or agile development environments
- Experience gathering requirements, writing technical documentation, or collaborating with development team
What we offer:
- The chance to shape a flagship product at the centre of ComAp's energy transition strategy, backed by the stability of a Czech-based company with global reach - our products are sold in more than 100 countries worldwide
- A friendly and informal working environment where colleagues support each other, and enjoy spending time together outside of work
- Strong focus on employee development through a wide range of internal and external learning opportunities
- Opportunities for international assignments in our offices in the USA, Canada, Australia, China, Dubai, India, the UK, Italy, Germany, and Singapore
- Modern, dog-friendly offices in Prague's Holešovice with parking, relaxation areas, and a small gym
- Hybrid work model (2 days of home office per week)
Additional benefits include:
- 5 weeks of vacation
- 3 "Me Days"
- 1 Charity Day
- Flexible working hours
- Meal vouchers
- Edenred cafeteria
- Language courses
- Annual bonuses
And finally - plenty of informal company events, breakfasts, and teambuilding activities!
