Accountant

Job Description:

• Manage the full accounting function and ensure the accuracy of financial records
• Perform EMP501 reconciliations and maintain payroll-related compliance
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and manage VAT registrations
• Administer Provisional Tax, Income Tax, Dividend Withholding Tax, and PAYE requirements
• Manage daily banking activities and cash management processes
• Ensure company compliance requirements are maintained and up to date
• Process supplier invoices and maintain supplier accounts
• Process customer transactions and maintain customer accounts
• Perform monthly supplier and customer reconciliations
• Manage stock counts and prepare inventory reporting
• Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions
• Oversee month-end accounting processes and reporting deadlines
• Process journals and maintain accurate general ledger records
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements for management and review purposes
• Maintain and manage the Fixed Asset Register

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 10 years' relevant accounting or finance experience
• Strong all-round accounting background with exposure to multiple finance functions
• Experience with tax compliance, reconciliations, financial reporting, and inventory management
• Strong month-end and year-end accounting experience
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the finance function
• Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
• Comfortable operating within a fully office-based environment
• Experience within manufacturing, engineering, trading, or operational businesses - advantageous

Qualification:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, OR Equivalent- advantageous
