Principal Software Engineer

We're looking for engineers who have built large-scale, low-latency cloud data planes, API gateways, edge/CDN platforms, or service mesh infrastructureStrong hands-on experience with Go (preferred); Kubernetes; Envoy/Nginx/HAProxy; distributed systems; HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 (QUIC); gRPC; TLS; and cloud-native architecture is essential. The ideal candidate has experience designing high-throughput, multi-tenant, multi-region systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability. Experience with SASE, SWG, Edge Networking, or AI/LLM traffic processing is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and build a high-performance cloud data plane that processes enterprise traffic in real time.
• Develop and optimise low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems for production-scale SaaS environments.
• Own the complete request lifecycle, including TLS termination, HTTP/2 & HTTP/3 (QUIC), gRPC, WebSockets, request routing, and response streaming.
• Design multi-tenant, multi-region cloud architecture with high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability.
• Build and optimise L7 proxy infrastructure using technologies like Envoy, Nginx, or HAProxy.
• Implement service discovery, load balancing, circuit breaking, retries, backpressure, and resiliency mechanisms.
• Lead Kubernetes-based deployments, autoscaling, rolling upgrades, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Optimise platform performance by improving latency, throughput, connection handling, and infrastructure efficiency.
• Implement observability using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and distributed tracing for production monitoring and debugging.
• Drive architectural decisions around API Gateway, Service Mesh, proxy technologies, and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Mentor engineering teams, lead technical design discussions, and establish engineering best practices.
