VP, Product Strategy & Operations

Overview

We are looking for a VP of Product Strategy & Program Management to build and lead the operational and strategic backbone of our Product organization. This leader will own the connective tissue between product strategy and product execution - ensuring our roadmap is grounded in rigorous market intelligence, our launches land with commercial and customer impact, our cross-functional programs run predictably, and our product documentation is accurate, discoverable, and enterprise-grade.

This is a builder role. You'll stand up and mature four disciplines - Market Analysis, Launch Excellence, Program Management, and Product Documentation - inside a product organization that is scaling its maturity and rigor. You'll partner directly with the CPO, product line leaders, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer success to make sure great products actually reach the market and the market actually understands them.

Responsibilities

What You'll Own

Market Strategy & Analysis

• Lead competitive intelligence, market sizing, and segmentation analysis that directly informs roadmap prioritization and portfolio strategy
• Build repeatable frameworks for tracking market dynamics, buyer needs, and competitive positioning
• Translate market insight into inputs product leaders and executives can act on - not just reports that sit on a shelf

Launch Excellence

• Own the end-to-end launch framework: readiness criteria, cross-functional launch plans, tiering models, and post-launch retrospectives
• Partner with Product Marketing, Sales Enablement, and Customer Success to ensure every release has a commercial and adoption plan, not just a ship date
• Establish the metrics that define launch success and hold the org accountable to them

Program Management

• Build and lead a program management function that drives predictability across complex, cross-functional product initiatives
• Own portfolio-level visibility: roadmap execution tracking, dependency management, risk escalation, and executive reporting
• Instill lightweight but durable operating rhythms (planning cycles, status reporting, escalation paths) appropriate for a scaling PM organization

Product Documentation

• Lead the team responsible for product documentation, release notes, and internal/external knowledge resources
• Ensure documentation quality keeps pace with product complexity, particularly for enterprise and technical buyers
• Build scalable documentation processes that reduce support burden and improve customer self-sufficiency

Team & Organizational Leadership

• Hire, develop, and lead a team of market analysis, launch, program management, and documentation specialists
• Define career pathing and craft standards for a discipline that is often under-resourced and under-defined - you'll be building the operating model, not inheriting one
• Act as a force multiplier for the CPO, translating strategic priorities into operational execution across the product org

Qualifications

Qualifications

• 10+ years in product strategy, product operations, program management, or a related discipline, with at least 3-5 years leading teams
• Track record of building or significantly maturing a product operations, strategy, or program management function inside a scaling or transforming organization
• Strong command of market analysis and competitive intelligence methods, and comfort turning ambiguous market signals into clear strategic recommendations
• Demonstrated success running high-stakes product launches with measurable commercial outcomes
• Program management rigor - you can run a portfolio, not just a project - with fluency in tools and frameworks for tracking cross-functional execution
• Experience overseeing or partnering closely with technical documentation functions; you understand what “good” looks like for enterprise/technical audiences
• Excellent executive communication skills; you can operate comfortably in front of the C-suite and PE/board audiences
• Comfortable operating in an organization where product management maturity is still being built - you thrive on creating structure, not just working within it
• Experience in enterprise software, legal technology, eDiscovery, or another complex B2B/enterprise domain is a plus
