The business grew from Atlanta Marble Manufacturing, opened in Decatur in 1970, merged with Builder Specialties in 2015 and later acquired Fuse Specialty Appliances & Plumbing; its family of companies includes Bell Cabinetry, Cancos Tile & Stone and UMI Stone. It hires installers, service technicians, warehouse associates, machine operators, outside sales associates, project managers and showroom staff.

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE 

The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing customer relationships while providing an exceptional customer experience. This role will serve as a key point of contact for customers, providing sales support, product information, pricing, lead times, scheduling, and solutions throughout the sales process.

The Account Manager will work closely with builders, designers, remodelers, and retail customers to support existing accounts, secure new business opportunities, and drive profitable sales growth. This position will also represent Construction Resources at industry events and functions as needed.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent account management, sales support, and customer service to all assigned accounts
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and key account contacts
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and generate new business
  • Follow up with customers by phone and email to secure orders and maintain relationships
  • Provide customers with product specifications, pricing, lead times, and delivery/install information
  • Conduct product and service presentations as needed
  • Coordinate with internal teams to communicate scheduling changes and job readiness
  • Visit jobsites as needed to provide customer and sales support
  • Proactively communicate with customers throughout the order and installation process
  • Resolve customer concerns and coordinate solutions with the appropriate internal teams
  • Follow up to ensure customer satisfaction and successful completion of projects
  • Collect deposits and outstanding balances as needed
  • Assist with collections when necessary
  • Attend sales meetings, training, and company functions as required
  • Participate in industry events, sponsorships, and networking opportunities as needed
  • Work with internal partners, including National Account Management and Customer Service, to address field issues and provide solutions
  • Work retail leads as assigned, particularly within fireplace and surround product categories
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Construction Resources products, services, and processes

Competencies / Skills / Abilities

  • 3-5 years of experience in account management, sales, customer service, or the construction industry
  • Hands-on knowledge of construction-related products and/or sales preferred
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service skills
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve sales and account growth goals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams at all levels
  • Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple customer accounts and priorities simultaneously
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record
