Responsibilities:

  • Design and build highly scalable, distributed backend systems and data pipelines.
  • Own core platform architecture across compute, storage, streaming, and orchestration layers.
  • Develop cloud-native services using Kubernetes and modern microservices patterns.
  • Build and optimise real-time and batch data pipelines (Kafka, Spark, and Big Data stacks).
  • Improve system reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead technical design decisions and mentor engineers on systems best practices.
  • Own services' end-to-end design, implementation, deployment, and production stability.


Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience as a backend/systems/platform engineer.
  • Strong experience designing and scaling distributed systems in production.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of streaming and messaging systems (Kafka or similar).
  • Experience building big data pipelines using Spark or similar frameworks.
  • Deep experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS / Azure / GCP).
  • Strong fundamentals in system design, data structures, and performance optimisation.
