What you'll be doing

What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Compliance Manager, FIU within our Corpay Cross-Border division. In this role, you will lead, coach, and develop a team of financial-crime investigators, ensuring high-quality investigation standards, effective escalation management, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting. You will report directly to Head of FIU - EMEA and regularly collaborate with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Operations, senior stakeholders, and external regulatory or law-enforcement bodies.

Role Responsibilities

  • Leading, coaching, and developing a team of financial-crime investigators, establishing clear expectations for investigative quality, productivity, professional judgment, and regulatory compliance.
  • Managing the allocation and prioritisation of team workload, balancing BAU investigations with urgent escalations, regulatory deadlines, law-enforcement requests, remediation activities, and strategic projects.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and other financial crime regulations.
  • Preparing and submitting regulatory reports and filings to relevant authorities in a timely manner.
  • Serving as a senior point of escalation for complex, high-risk, sensitive, or time-critical investigations involving UK and European customers, counterparties, beneficiaries, payment flows, or legal entities.
  • Providing training and guidance to employees on compliance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitating workshops, providing status updates, and leading meetings within the compliance department.
  • Reviewing and responding to AML-related inquiries originating from external sources.
  • Compiling and providing information, statistical data, and documentation requested by management in relation to subpoenas, regional audits, and exams.
  • Acting as a subject-matter expert for UK- and EU-related financial-crime investigations, providing guidance on applicable investigative standards, reporting requirements, risk indicators, and escalation thresholds.
  • Proactively identifying risks and issues and providing appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Contributing to internal growth initiatives, including mentoring, recruitment, strategy, and methodology enhancement.
  • Supporting miscellaneous projects or duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the compliance field, preferably within a second-line or holistic compliance function.
  • Minimum 2+ years of managerial experience.
  • Previous experience managing, leading, and coaching a team within a Compliance department.
  • Strong experience distributing team work, reviewing, and managing escalations, with the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Investigation experience within a financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of AML, CTF, and broader financial crime regulatory requirements.
  • Confident and competent in communicating with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage high-risk, sensitive, and time-critical investigations.
  • Strong decision-making, prioritisation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience preparing reports, documentation, and responses related to audits, exams, subpoenas, or regulatory requests.
