The Impact of a Sr Customer Value Consultant at Coupa:
The Customer Value Consultant works with customers who need extra support to adopt and get value from Coupa. As part of our Customer Success organization, you take on short, focused engagements with accounts that need support, helping them work through issues and build healthier adoption over time.
In each engagement, you step in to assess the situation, develop a plan, drive it forward, and position the customer to sustain that progress beyond the life of the engagement. This is a hands-on role. You will work directly within the account to return it to health, including configuration within the Coupa platform where an engagement warrants it.
What You'll Do:
- Lead focused, time-bound engagements with accounts that need extra support to adopt Coupa and get full value from it.
- Manage each engagement end to end, from initial diagnosis through to a clean transition:
- Work with the customer to define the scope, activities, and key deliverables of the engagement, and agree on what success looks like from the outset.
- Diagnose adoption barriers in direct partnership with customers, pinpointing the root causes placing the account at risk.
- Develop a recovery plan and build early momentum, applying disciplined project management to chart a clear path.
- Work directly in the Coupa platform, making configuration changes to resolve adoption barriers where a solution requires it.
- Run workshops that give customers practical technical, process, and workaround recommendations grounded in Coupa product knowledge.
- Equip the customer with a means of tracking their own progress, so momentum continues once the engagement concludes.
- Partner with internal teams including Sales, Product Management, and Marketing to drive continuous improvement in how customers succeed with Coupa.
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- 6 - 8 years in customer success, consulting, implementation, solution advisory, or a comparable customer-facing role at a software or SaaS company.
- Hands-on experience configuring enterprise software. Coupa or similar spend-management experience is preferred.
- Full professional fluency in English, written and spoken (C1 or above).
- Strong consulting and engagement management skills, with the ability to run a structured engagement and build trust and credibility quickly.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to guide customers through findings and next steps.
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of diagnosing issues and driving measurable outcomes.
- Familiarity with Procurement, Procure-to-Pay, or spend management is a plus.
