THE ROLE

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to help develop, optimize, and scale the manufacturing processes for our next-generation autonomous defense systems. You will work at the intersection of Design Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure our products can be manufactured efficiently, reliably, and at scale.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who enjoys solving problems on the production floor and turning engineering designs into repeatable, high-quality manufacturing processes. You will play a key role in moving products from development and prototype builds into production while continuously improving throughput, quality, and operational efficiency.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for complex autonomous systems and electromechanical assemblies.
• Develop assembly processes, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, and production methods to improve throughput and repeatability.
• Partner closely with Design and Systems Engineering to ensure products are designed for manufacturability and scalable production.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and increase production capacity.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to source, qualify, and improve materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
• Establish and improve in-process quality controls, inspection methods, and manufacturing standards.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues, quality escapes, and process failures.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), prototype builds, and transition from engineering development to production.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process specifications, and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable defense industry, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide hands-on technical support and training to production personnel.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues directly on the production floor and work cross-functionally to implement solutions.
• Evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies and recommend improvements that enable scalable, high-quality production.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related production engineering role.
• Experience manufacturing complex mechanical, electromechanical, or autonomous systems.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, tooling, and production equipment.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues in a hands-on production environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
• Ability to work onsite in Texas.
• This position requires access to ITAR-controlled technology and technical data, which necessitates that the candidate be a U.S. person under federal export control laws

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience manufacturing autonomous systems, robotics, aerospace, defense, or other complex hardware.
• Experience with new product introduction (NPI) and transitioning products from prototype to high-rate production.
• Experience developing production tooling, fixtures, jigs, and assembly processes.
• Familiarity with CNC machining, composites, additive manufacturing, or other advanced manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
• Experience working in a high-growth startup or rapidly scaling manufacturing organization.
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
