Global Investment Organisation based in Galway is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to join their team. This is a long term rolling contract.

Experience

·6+ years Software Quality Engineering experience

·Experience with test automation tools and frameworks

·The ability to develop and execute automation tests and strategies

·Expertise in both front end and API automation, experience using established frameworks like Playwright and Karate

·Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript

·Experience with requirement analysis, defect tracking, coordinating with team members in different locations, and test reporting and signoff

·Experience with continuous integration practices and automated deployment tools

·Ability to adapt to new environments and learn in-house developed tools and practices

Skills

·Strong analytical and technical skills to address complex issues and the ability to perform root cause analysis on defects

·Excellent communication skills

·Jira and Xray a plus

·Experience with GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools

·Hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot to generate, optimize, and maintain test automation code and engineering documentation

·Experience reviewing AI-generated automation code and test artifacts to validate accuracy, maintainability, security, and adherence to engineering standards.

·Familiarity with prompt engineering techniques to improve GitHub Copilot output quality and consistency

·The ability to mine and manipulate data to create test data and test cases for projects

·Actively drive a quality mindset across the team, influencing the broader team in quality engineering behaviours and practices

·Work collaboratively with the team to determine suitable test automation frameworks and strategies within the realm of the company approved tools and standards

·Actively participate in all team meetings including planning, refinement, planning, sprint demos, reviews and retrospectives

·Work collaboratively with engineering and business colleagues to define acceptance criteria

·Analyze and report test results and articulate product release readiness from a QE perspective

·Develop a strong understanding of the business domain you are working on and actively contribute to technology discussions with business partners and other external parties

·Actively contribute to test automation code and practices

·Actively contribute to engineering practices such as code and design reviews and the definition of source control strategy, environment strategy, and build and deployment pipeline
