Crusoe is an energy and cloud company founded in 2018 that builds data centres next to stranded and low-carbon power sources. It started by converting flared natural gas into computing capacity and has become a large supplier of graphics processing capacity for artificial intelligence training and inference. The company develops sites, energy systems and its own managed AI cloud.

Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack - from electrons to tokens - to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.

We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that - with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.

We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved - people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.

If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.

Position Summary

The Sr. Manager, Facility Operations - Colocation, North America is responsible for ensuring that every colocation provider supporting Crusoe Cloud across North America operates in full alignment with Crusoe Operations Standards. This role owns the operational governance relationship with colocation partners - from standards enforcement and compliance audits to incident management and vendor performance - safeguarding the reliability, safety, and security of the infrastructure that powers Crusoe Cloud. The ideal candidate combines deep mission-critical facilities expertise with strong vendor management skills and is comfortable operating as Crusoe's on-the-ground authority across a distributed, multi-provider colocation footprint.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Standards Governance & Compliance

  • Own enforcement of Crusoe Operations Standards across all third-party colocation provider sites supporting Crusoe Cloud in North America.

  • Conduct recurring audits, physical inspections, and documentation reviews of colocation facilities against Crusoe's safety, reliability, security, and environmental standards.

  • Partner with the Global Data Center Operations Standards team to localize and interpret standards in light of NFPA (70/70E/72), NEC, OSHA, and applicable state/provincial and utility interconnection requirements.

  • Own the tracking and timely closure of compliance gaps, audit findings, and corrective action plans (CAPs) in partnership with providers.

Colocation Partner Management

  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for coordination with each provider's facility operators, engineers, account managers, customer-service teams, and leadership across third-party colocation facilities across North America.

  • Serve as Crusoe’s primary escalation point for maintenance, incidents, outages, service issues, chronic deficiencies, and provider performance.

  • Own provider communications, escalation tracking, action items, and timely resolution of operational issues.

  • Monitor service requests and ensure provider performance meets applicable Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Conduct regular site visits, facility walkthroughs, maintenance reviews, operational assessments, and meetings with provider leadership.

  • Review provider staffing models, escalation procedures, preventive-maintenance programs, and emergency-response readiness.

  • Lead governance cadences (monthly/quarterly business reviews) with providers, reviewing SLA performance, uptime, maintenance execution, and standards adherence.

  • Provide operational input into Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work, and SLAs, ensuring Crusoe Operations Standards are contractually reflected.

  • Identify and escalate chronic performance, safety, or compliance issues, including formal partner risk assessments where warranted.

  • Participate in and lead applicable Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with providers.

Facility & Technical Oversight

  • Review provider electrical, mechanical, fire/life-safety, and physical security systems and operating procedures for alignment with Crusoe standards, with particular attention to high-density GPU compute environments.

  • Oversee commissioning and acceptance testing of new colocation suites, cages, and data halls prior to Crusoe Cloud go-live.

  • Review and approve Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and maintenance schedules for work impacting Crusoe-critical infrastructure.

  • Support capacity planning, power/space utilization tracking, and growth forecasting in partnership with providers and internal Capacity Planning teams.

Incident & Risk Management

  • Own Crusoe’s review of provider root-cause analyses and ensure all corrective and preventive actions are tracked through closure.

  • Maintain a regional risk register for colocation facilities across North America and escalate material risks to senior leadership.

  • Own Crusoe’s operational response and coordinate with colocation providers during incidents, outages, emergencies, and business-continuity events.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting

  • Partner with Data Center Design & Construction, Security, Network/IT, Procurement, and Legal on colocation strategy, standards rollout, and contract renewals.

  • Provide operational due diligence and standards input during evaluation of new colocation partners and markets in North America.

  • Develop and maintain KPI scorecards for colocation provider performance and present regional performance and risk summaries to senior leadership.

  • Champion continuous improvement, sharing lessons learned and best practices with the global Facility Operations and Operations Standards organization.

  • Act as the operational link between third-party providers and Crusoe’s ROC, Cloud, Compute, Hardware, Reliability, Procurement, Legal, and leadership teams.

  • Champion a safety-first culture across the third-party portfolio, including escalating work affecting Crusoe infrastructure when an unacceptable safety or operational risk exists.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in mission-critical data center facility operations, including at least 3+ years managing multi-site or colocation-based operations at scale.

  • Strong working knowledge of critical infrastructure systems: UPS, generators, switchgear, CRAC/CRAH and chilled-water cooling, fire/life-safety, and BMS/EPMS platforms.

  • Proven experience managing third-party vendor and colocation relationships, including SLAs, MSAs, and governance cadences.

  • Working knowledge of industry frameworks and standards such as Uptime Institute Tier classifications, ASHRAE thermal guidelines, and ISO 9001/14001/27001/45001.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, audit, and written/verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting risk and performance data to senior leadership.

  • Working knowledge of NFPA (70/70E/72), NEC, OSHA regulations, and North American utility interconnection practices.

  • Familiarity with major North American colocation markets and providers (e.g., Digital Realty, Equinix, QTS, CyrusOne, Aligned).

  • Ability to travel up to 30-50% within the United States and Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting GPU-dense, AI/ML, or other high-density compute environments (including liquid cooling deployments).

  • Professional certifications such as Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Specialist (ATS)/Accredited Operations Specialist (AOS), CDCP/CDCS/CDCE, PMP, or Six Sigma.
