Position Summary

CSN Collision is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Autobody Refinish Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing vehicles for the refinishing process and delivering high-quality paint work that meets or exceeds factory finish standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience with vehicle preparation, colour matching, paint application, and maintaining efficient workflow within a fast-paced collision repair environment. CSN Collision is known for its commitment to quality repairs and customer satisfaction, and we are looking for a technician who takes pride in both craftsmanship and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primer in accordance with manufacturer and paint company procedures
  • Sand vehicle surfaces using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure smooth and properly prepared finishes
  • Apply masking materials to protect vehicle surfaces from overspray and contamination
  • Mix paints, primers, and materials according to manufacturer specifications
  • Perform colour matching, spray-out cards, and tinting as required to achieve accurate finishes
  • Refinish vehicles using multi-stage paint processes to match or exceed OEM factory finishes
  • Ensure proper paint adhesion by removing dirt, debris, and imperfections from surfaces
  • Review work orders and verify all required parts and components are present prior to refinishing
  • Maintain productivity and workflow by completing repairs according to department schedules and production targets
  • Move vehicles safely in and out of the paint department while handling customer vehicles with care
  • Collaborate with the paint team and production staff to maintain efficiency and quality standards
  • Operate and maintain painting equipment, spray guns, and related tools
  • Maximize material usage and minimize waste while maintaining repair quality
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Properly dispose of hazardous materials and waste products
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Autobody Refinish Technician, Painter, or Prep Technician
  • Strong knowledge of sanding, masking, priming, and refinishing techniques
  • Experience working with automotive paints, primers, spray equipment, and refinishing systems
  • Ability to accurately colour match and perform paint blending techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced production setting
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
