CSN Collision (CSN Collision Centres) is a collision repair and automotive service network operating across North America. The enterprise provides comprehensive auto body repair, vehicle painting, windshield and glass replacement, paintless dent repair, towing assistance, and OEM-certified repairs through a network of licensed independent facilities and corporate-owned locations.

Position Summary:

CSN Champlain Auto Body is seeking an experienced EV Auto Body Repair Technician to join our growing collision repair team.

The successful candidate will specialize in repairing electric and hybrid vehicles safely and accurately according to manufacturer specifications. This position requires strong collision repair skills, knowledge of high-voltage vehicle safety, and the ability to follow OEM repair procedures throughout the repair process.

Primary Responsibilities;

  • Review estimates, work orders, repair plans, and OEM procedures, conducting full damage assessments (including hidden/prior damage) and documenting supplements.
  • Identify high-voltage EV/hybrid vehicles and rigorously execute safety protocols: establish safety zones, verify shutdown/isolation/lockout, and maintain required barriers and signage.
  • Inspect EV-specific components (battery enclosures, cooling systems, charging ports, cables, underbody protection) and immediately report high-voltage or thermal hazards.
  • Perform full structural and collision repairs (panels, doors, frames, glass, trim) using OEM-approved sectioning, welding (MIG/MAG, spot), bonding, riveting, and measuring equipment.
  • Work safely with advanced vehicle materials (HSS, UHSS, aluminum, plastics, composites) while protecting wiring, sensors, and high-voltage systems during hot work and surface prep.
  • Coordinate and verify diagnostic scans, ADAS calibrations, and system initializations before vehicle delivery.
  • Maintain thorough repair documentation, complete quality-control checks, conduct authorized test drives, and follow all shop safety standards.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years of professional auto body collision repair experience.
  • Certificate in Collision Repair, Auto Body Repair, or a related trade.
  • Automotive Body and Collision Technician Red Seal endorsement, provincial trade certification, or registration in a recognized apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • Experience repairing electric and hybrid vehicles is strongly preferred.
  • Current EV or high-voltage safety training from I-CAR, an OEM, or another recognized training provider is strongly preferred.
  • I-CAR welding certification is required or must be obtained within an agreed period after hiring.
  • I-CAR and OEM collision-repair certifications are considered strong assets.
  • Experience reading and following OEM repair procedures is required.
  • Thorough understanding of EV high-voltage hazards, restricted work zones, personal protective equipment, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Experience with vehicle disassembly, reassembly, structural repair, and replacement of welded and bonded panels.
  • Experience using frame-straightening and computerized measuring equipment.
  • Ability to work with steel, aluminum, plastics, composites, glass, electrical systems, mechanical components, and vehicle accessories.
  • Familiarity with pre-repair and post-repair scanning, diagnostic trouble codes, ADAS systems, and calibration requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand estimates, work orders, technical information, and automotive repair procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to follow standardized production and quality-control processes.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must supply appropriate personal tools and CSA-approved safety footwear.
  • Must use all required EV-rated personal protective equipment and testing equipment as directed.
  • Up-to-date workplace compliance training, including WHMIS, Worker Health and Safety Awareness, Workplace Violence and Harassment Prevention, accessibility requirements, and information-security/privacy requirements, or willingness to complete required training.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. and perform work involving standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
