Culina Group is a leading UK logistics and supply chain enterprise specializing in temperature-controlled and ambient food and beverage distribution. The company provides integrated warehousing, freight transport, contract packing, and bonded storage services for major retail and manufacturing clients across the United Kingdom and Ireland. Headquartered in Market Drayton, Shropshire, it manages a vast network of strategic depots to deliver end-to-end supply chain solutions.

Part of the Culina Group, IPS is the UK market leader in Contract Packing solutions. IPS provides the most extensive pool of Contract Packing equipment and expertise available in the UK. IPS continues to grow and is now widely integrated and embedded within operations right across the Culina Group network.

We are looking for a Production Line Supervisor to join IPS at our Saint Helens site, supporting co-packing and manufacturing operations for some of the UK’s leading retailers and FMCG organisations. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a modern, fast-paced operation where you will play a key role in leading teams, driving performance, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity are maintained across the site.

As a key link between production teams and site management, you will help ensure operations run smoothly, production targets are achieved, and all health, safety, and quality standards are consistently met. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous supervisory experience who enjoys motivating teams and improving performance in a manufacturing environment.

This role is a permanent role working Monday to Friday operating on a rotating 3-shift pattern covering 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, and 10pm-6am.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead, manage, and support a team of Production Line Leaders and Operatives across shifts, ensuring colleagues are trained, scheduled effectively, and performing to a high standard.
  • Motivate and engage teams to consistently achieve hourly and daily production targets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Monitor product quality to ensure all finished goods meet client, company, and industry specifications, identifying and escalating any issues where necessary.
  • Maximise production efficiency to ensure operational plans are delivered on an hourly and daily basis.
  • Use integrated management systems accurately to support the smooth running of the operation.
  • Promote and uphold best practice across health, safety, and quality, including routine safety checks, incident support, and compliance with site procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that help reduce waste, improve workflow efficiency, and lower manufacturing costs.
  • Ensure all paperwork and system updates are completed accurately and in line with company procedures.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment, ideally within FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader position, with a strong track record of delivering production targets.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing machinery, production processes, and operational best practice.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and engage a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the confidence to make quick and effective decisions in a fast-moving environment.
  • Health & Safety Level 2 and NVQ Level 2 in Team Leading or Packing Operations would be advantageous.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and a genuine commitment to driving operational excellence.

As part of our drive to make IPS a great place to work, we are proud to be an inclusive and diverse organisation where we are committed to employee development and recognising success for hard working performers.

Our dedicated learning and development programmes are open to every employee to give you the opportunity to shape your own future within logistics and continue to work in an environment where team culture thrives.
