The fastest growing mobile service technology platform for dealerships, redefining how automotive service is delivered and experienced.

Director, Business Development

Greater Los Angeles Area | Travel Required

$175 - 225K OTE

Who We Are

Curbee is the fastest-growing mobile service technology company in automotive. We are venture backed, have relevant street credit and are proud of our brand equity. We help dealerships launch, manage, and scale mobile service operations through our platform, M.A.R.S. (Mobile and Remote Service). Our technology enables dealerships to send the right van, to the right job, with the right parts, at the right time… creating a better experience for customers while driving operational efficiency and profitability for dealerships.

We’re a scrappy, curious, and resourceful team that believes in working hard, having fun, and building something meaningful together. We spend time in the field with our Dealer & OEM Partners to create awareness and momentum across the automotive industry.

This role is located in the Los Angeles Area and will be primarily onsite except when you are in the field. Candidates outside of this area will not be considered unless they are willing to relocate. We will relocate outstanding candidates.

What You’ll Do

We are in various conversations with the majority of the OEM’s in the U.S. The Director, OEM Business Development is a brand-new position at Curbee. You will build the playbook, metrics, and long term strategy for success in this role. You will develop new OEM relationships and deepen existing initiatives with automotive OEM at each level, headquarters, field offices, and major auto groups. The goal is to ensure our OEM partners have a clear point of contact with an intentional path forward for successful programs into repeatable, scalable business.

This is a hands-on role where you must be strategic and operational at the same time. We’re looking for a highly motivated relationship-builder and operator who is comfortable thinking strategically and managing the details required to move complex opportunities forward.

You will report directly to the CEO, strategize with our Sr. Director of Partnerships, and work closely with other key team members to ensure expansion of Curbee’s platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new relationships with automotive OEMs, field offices, and major automotive groups.
  • Develop and execute strategies that expand awareness, engagement, pilot opportunities, and revenue.
  • Share insights from manufacturers, field teams, dealers, and industry partners back into Curbee's product, go-to-market, and partnership (dealer sales) strategy.
  • Educate OEM and dealer partners on mobile service, Curbee’s platform, and how to identify opportunities within their dealer networks.
  • Create and manage pilot programs and OEM initiatives to ensure successful engagement and measurable outcomes.
  • Participate in Parts & Service Club meetings, regional meetings, district events, and other OEM field forums.
  • Partner with Marketing to turn successes into proof points that accelerate expansion across the industry.
  • Capitalize on expansion opportunities to fuel commercial outcomes.

You’ll succeed at Curbee if you’re:

  • Curious: You ask questions, seek to understand how things work, and look for opportunities others may miss.
  • Resourceful: You know how to find answers, build relationships, and overcome obstacles.
  • Get It Done: You take ownership, follow through, and make sure important initiatives do not get lost.
  • A Natural Relationship-Builder: You develop trust quickly within Curbee and at every level of an OEM relationship.
  • Comfortable With Ambiguity: You thrive in a startup environment where priorities evolve and you may need to jump into new initiatives quickly.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have both automotive OEM AND automotive vendor experience.
  • Ideal candidate profile is 5+ years of experience working for an automotive OEM, including field experience, AND 3+ years of experience in the automotive vendor space.
  • Alternative candidates will possess 5+ years of OEM field experience OR 5+ years Vendor experience with a focus on Major Auto Group or OEM Sales.
  • Strong understanding of dealership operations, particularly fixed operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage long sales cycles, strategic partnerships, pilots, and multi-stage business development initiatives.
  • Experience creating customer stories, case studies, presentations, or other business development content.
  • Ability to create and maintain organized account plans, opportunity tracking, and follow-up processes.
  • Must be able to travel extensively (approximately 60%) for OEM meetings, field events, dealer launches, industry conferences, and strategic opportunities.
  • This is a highly visible role. You will be expected to work several days a week from our Los Angeles Area office when you are not in the field.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in mobile service, fixed operations consulting, dealership technology, or automotive transformation initiatives.
  • Comfortable using HubSpot CRM, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and other modern collaboration and sales tools.
  • You use AI natively to work smarter, move faster, and create efficiencies.

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive base salary and performance-based compensation
  • Equity ownership
  • Comprehensive benefits
  • Unlimited PTO
  • The opportunity to build and own Curbee’s OEM business development motion
  • A highly visible role working directly with Curbee leadership and some of the largest automotive manufacturers in the industry
  • The opportunity to help transform automotive service while making a significant impact at a high-growth company

If you’re highly curious, resourceful, relationship-driven, and know how to get things done, we’d love to chat.
