Job Title

Technician Lead

Job Description Summary

The Technician Lead leads the hard-services technician team for an assigned CGK availability zone. The role controls daily job assignment, permits, work orders, PPM execution, vendor escorts, safety compliance and reporting.

The role translates the Chief Engineer’s maintenance plan into safe and timely onsite execution and ensures technicians meet client maintenance, work-order, documentation and KPI requirements.

Job Description

About the Role:

  • Lead and allocate the technician team for daily inspections, PPM, corrective works, vendor support and operational requests.
  • Create and coordinate permits to work and confirm required MOPs, risk assessments, PPE and work-control documentation before activities begin.
  • Track PPM and work-order schedules, ensure work is completed accurately and on time in accordance with approved MOPs, client maintenance guidelines and OEM requirements, and escalate delays or abnormal findings with a documented reason and mitigation plan.
  • Review technicians’ job updates, readings, checklists, photographs and service reports before work-order closure, ensuring all work orders raised four weeks or more earlier are closed with accurate, error-free closure data.
  • Coordinate and escort OEM and authorised third-party maintenance, verify safe execution and confirm systems and work areas are returned to normal.
  • Support troubleshooting and incident response, contribute to root-cause failure analysis (RCFA) and action plans within one week of an incident, and prepare corrective-maintenance proposals within five business days.
  • Ensure team compliance with Safety, Security and Environmental policies and applicable K3 requirements.
  • Report daily activities, risks, defects, resource needs and outstanding actions to the Chief Engineer, and handle queries from managers and the onsite team.
  • Supervise technician support for the rack power-up process, including battery installation, power cabling from PDU panels, HAC and seismic installation.
  • Plan team rosters and overtime within the 4-hour daily and 18-hour weekly limits, and verify overtime through daily timesheets or CMMS logs.
  • Monitor the readiness of critical spares, tools, PPE and consumables so the team can meet SLA response times.
  • Track team training, certification and PPE compliance, ensuring mandatory trainings are completed.

About You:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a senior technician or technical team lead in a data centre or critical facility, including at least 2 years leading a technician team.
  • Relevant diploma, vocational or technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services.
