Operations & Controlling Lead
We are looking for an Operations & Controlling Lead to establish and maintain integrated operational and financial performance management across Life Cycle Management deliveries and projects.
The initial focus will be on scaling Service Plan delivery into a high-volume, item-based operation. The role will connect demand, released scope, backlog, work in progress, throughput, capacity, working hours, productivity, revenue, cost and margin into a consistent management view.
Key responsibilities
- Consolidate demand, backlog, capacity, delivery and financial plans.
- Develop and maintain management dashboards and reporting routines.
- Provide visibility into released scope, production readiness, backlog ageing, work in progress, throughput and remaining workload.
- Consolidate revenue forecasts and support percentage-of-completion revenue recognition together with Finance.
- Connect operational data from customer and internal systems with progress, hours and financial reporting.
- Monitor hours and cost per Service Plan, productive and non-productive effort, learning-curve development and margin performance.
- Provide cost-to-complete, forecast-at-completion and variance analysis.
- Maintain completion, capacity and resource-gap forecasts.
- Define KPI calculations, data ownership, update cycles and data-quality controls.
- Prepare management performance reviews, highlight decisions required and follow agreed actions.
- Support Service Plan scale-up scenarios and other possible LCM deliveries and projects using shared capacity.
- Identify reporting automation opportunities together with Finance, IT and data specialists.
Role boundaries and interfaces
The role reports to the Head of Lifecycle Management and works closely with delivery owners, the LCM Delivery Resource Pool, customer-facing teams, Finance and data specialists.
This is an individual-contributor role without direct reports. Operational delivery, technical content, customer priorities, line management and daily resource allocation remain with the relevant delivery owners.
Required qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, business, industrial engineering, information systems or another relevant field.
- Strong experience in project controlling, financial planning and analysis, operations performance, portfolio reporting, PMO or a comparable role.
- Experience in revenue forecasting, cost control, variance analysis and management reporting.
- Ability to combine fragmented operational and financial data into clear and actionable management information.
- Experience defining KPIs, reporting processes, data ownership and dashboard requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with Power BI, SAP or comparable reporting and business systems is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently across Finance, business, delivery and IT interfaces.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Preferred experience
- Experience with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
- Experience in fixed-price, item-based or high-volume delivery environments.
- Experience working across distributed teams in Finland and India.
- Experience in lifecycle services, industrial content, product data or engineering information.
- Experience establishing reporting and controlling practices from incomplete or fragmented data.
What success looks like
Success in this role means establishing one reliable management view of LCM demand, backlog, throughput, capacity, productivity and financial performance. The role enables earlier identification of delivery and margin risks, more reliable forecasting and fact-based capacity decisions without adding another operational management layer
