Principal Engineering Manager

We are currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Portfolio Data Service team at D. E. Shaw India in Hyderabad. This team is dedicated to the development and design of scalable, high-performing core infrastructure as well as hosting critical firmwide portfolio data sets for various business groups' consumption. The team aims to stay cutting-edge on technology and provide data solutions for needs revolving around firmwide portfolio data sets. Besides data, at the core, the infra will also be built generically and would be offered standalone as well.

As a valued member of the Portfolio Data Service team, you will work closely with multiple business teams to research various data needs, design, maintain, and develop robust libraries as well as the application that could act as the central storage for various firmwide portfolio data sets (trades, positions, PnL, and friends) for various business application use cases within DESCO.

Responsibilities:

• You will handle big data optimization, design scalable libraries, and ensure quality.
• You will also handle project execution in an agile environment, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and gain exposure to the business and technology in a leading financial firm.
• Finally, you will also be responsible for people and project management as a key part of the job role.
