Tech Lead (SDET)

We are looking for a Lead, Tech to join the Quality and Test Engineering group based in the firm's office in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, or Gurugram. The Quality and Test Engineering (QTE) team manages the entire firm's quality mandate and delivers quality product releases with deep integration in the software development cycle, focusing on functional correctness, scalability, and performance. Our prime motivation is to mature the software development cycle by bringing robust test-engineering practices, automation, tooling, and quality product releases.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing automation tools and frameworks, understanding the domain, testing and automating complex projects, managing and mentoring a small group of test engineers, and driving innovation by improving or introducing new tools and processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• You will collaborate closely with our business domain from a testing perspective.
• You will also be involved with business-critical systems and workflows such as trading and risk platforms, or core infrastructure and platform services, and ensure that they function exactly as intended.
• Additionally, you will focus on productivity through automation and tooling, developing end-to-end functional and integration test scenarios with an exceptional emphasis on the business domain, owning end-to-end QTE processes, and driving release planning.
• You will integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines so that quality signals are continuous rather than gated at the end of a release, champion shift-left testing to surface defects at the earliest possible point in the development cycle, and partner with developers on testability-by-design, influencing interfaces, instrumentation, and test hooks while systems are still being built.
• Furthermore, you will exhibit leadership in designing automated test suites and building the frameworks that run them, coordinate test-plan reviews, and build reusable test frameworks and self-service tooling that other engineers adopt.

Requirements:

• 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience.
• The ability to rapidly learn complex domains and model workflows; and to translate requirements into test strategy.
• Experience in building and improving test processes with an increased focus on business context.
• Experience validating distributed/microservices systems and event-driven workflows.
• Exceptional programming proficiency in a high-level, object-oriented programming language like Java/C++; with a track record of writing production-quality, maintainable code.
• Excellent proficiency in Python and working knowledge of shell scripting such as Bash.
• Hands-on experience with unit testing frameworks like JUnit and TestNG, and API test automation.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and maintaining them as production-grade code.
• Exposure to UI stacks like React/Redux.
• Working experience in UNIX or one of its flavours.
• Familiarity with performance/reliability testing and basic observability.
