We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Engineering Manager with 10-20 years of experience to lead the design, development, implementation, and enhancement of enterprise-grade applications, with a strong focus on Java and ERP systems. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong engineering practices and the ability to work closely with product, business, and technology stakeholders.

The role involves owning key engineering initiatives, driving scalable and reliable solutions, reviewing technical architecture, and ensuring successful delivery of complex ERP and Java-based applications. The candidate should be comfortable working in large-scale enterprise environments and translating business requirements into robust technology solutions.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, development, and implementation of Java-based enterprise applications and ERP solutions.
• Define technical strategies and engineering standards for scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performing systems.
• Work closely with product managers, business teams, functional consultants, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Drive the complete software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Provide technical leadership for complex ERP implementations, integrations, customizations, and enhancements.
• Design and develop robust backend services, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations using Java technologies.
• Review technical designs, code, architecture decisions, and implementation approaches to ensure engineering quality.
• Identify opportunities for application modernization, performance optimization, automation, and process improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot critical production issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Establish engineering best practices around coding standards, testing, deployment, monitoring, security, and documentation.
• Manage technical risks, dependencies, timelines, and delivery priorities across multiple engineering initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to building a strong technical culture within the organization.

Must-Have Skills

Java

• Strong hands-on experience with Core Java and enterprise Java development.
• Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and related technologies.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, database technologies, application architecture, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing scalable and highly available enterprise applications.

ERP

• Strong experience working with ERP platforms, enterprise business applications, ERP integrations, or ERP implementation projects.
• Understanding of ERP modules, business workflows, system integrations, data flows, and enterprise application architecture.
• Experience integrating ERP systems with Java-based applications, APIs, databases, and third-party platforms.
• Ability to work with business and functional teams to translate ERP requirements into technical solutions.

Good-to-Have Skills

Team Management

• Experience managing, mentoring, and developing engineering teams.
• Ability to establish engineering processes, allocate technical resources, and drive team performance.
• Strong communication, stakeholder collaboration, conflict-resolution, and people-development skills.

Experience & Qualifications

• 10-20 years of overall software engineering experience, with significant experience in Java and enterprise applications.
• Prior experience in an Engineering Manager, Technical Manager, Senior Technical Lead, or similar leadership role is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making abilities.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
