As the first commercial supplier of quantum computers, D-Wave is at the forefront of the dual development of quantum annealing and gate-model systems. D-Wave helps companies use quantum tech to solve real-world problems right now.

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Product Manager [546]. Location: New Haven, CT, USA, with hybrid work on the East Coast within commuting distance of New Haven

Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of D-Wave's gate-model quantum processing unit (QPU) product roadmap, with a focus on dual-rail qubit systems.
  • Translate product roadmap objectives and company goals into clear business and product requirements for development teams.
  • Define detailed product requirements for dual-rail gate-model quantum systems, simulators, and hybrid classical-quantum solutions.
  • Partner with hardware, software, and research teams to prioritize features, evaluate technical trade-offs, and align development efforts with customer and business needs.
  • Gather and synthesize customer feedback, market insights, product usage information, and competitive trends to inform product prioritization and roadmap recommendations;
  • Collaborate with program management to track development progress, identify risks and dependencies, and support successful product delivery.
  • Work with sales, marketing, and go-to-market teams on product launches, messaging, and marketing collateral.
  • Develop a deep understanding of D-Wave's quantum hardware, software stack, customer use cases, and market opportunities to guide product decisions.
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of the gate-model product roadmap based on customer needs, technology advancements, and competitive trends.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear product requirements and customer value propositions.
  • Balance customer needs, business priorities, and technical feasibility when making product decisions.
  • Lead moderately complex product initiatives in cross-functional environments while navigating ambiguity and technical challenges.
  • Build alignment across engineering, research, marketing, sales, go-to-market, and leadership teams;
  • Support products through multiple stages of maturity, from research prototypes through commercial deployment.
  • Work across the full solution landscape, including standalone quantum systems and hybrid classical-quantum solutions.
  • Engage with customers to understand their goals, challenges, and evolving requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 3 years of product management experience supporting complex technical products, ideally integrated hardware and software systems in technology environments.
  • Strong experience working with full-stack technology solutions, including hardware, software, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Background in quantum physics and quantum computing.
  • Experience supporting products across multiple stages of maturity, from research prototypes through commercial deployment.
  • Experience contributing to product roadmaps within deep-tech, scientific computing, or advanced technology environments.
  • Familiarity with scientific computing tools such as Python, cloud platforms, developer tools, or technical infrastructure.
  • Experience with both on-premises deployments and cloud-delivered quantum systems;
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and build alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical challenges while maintaining product momentum.

Preferred:

  • The position does not specify separate preferred qualifications beyond the required experience and technical background.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Annual salary range of $112,000-$154,000 USD for the New Haven location.
  • D-Wave's compensation philosophy includes company ownership, competitive pay, and a range of meaningful employee benefits.
  • Opportunities to work on commercial quantum computing products spanning hardware, software, cloud services, and hybrid classical-quantum solutions.
  • An inclusive environment that supports professional development and career growth;
  • Collaboration with domain experts, researchers, engineers, and other technical professionals.
  • A workplace culture centered on accountability, innovation, empathy, diverse perspectives, and employee development.
