The Senior Service Engineer is responsible for high-quality service activities on advanced microscopy systems and a broad portfolio of instruments on-site, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and high-quality customer service while achieving revenue and utilization targets.
This position reports to the Area Service Manager and is part of the DACH Service Organization working remotely to cover Germany Central & North.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Delivered on-site maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, upgrades, and remote technical support to ensure rapid issue resolution and high customer satisfaction.
- Improved product reliability by providing technical feedback, sharing field insights with Product Service Specialists, and ensuring effective communication across service and business teams.
- Ensured compliance with service processes and documentation standards while collaborating closely with Sales and Shared Services and supporting training and knowledge transfer activities.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Completed technical vocational training plus at least two years of advanced technical specialization and several years of relevant professional experience, or alternatively completed technical vocational training combined with extensive professional experience as a Field Service Engineer.
- Strong communication skills, solid methodological/problem-solving capabilities, and excellent self-organization.
- Extensive product knowledge, strong IT skills (SAP R/3, Microsoft Office), and good written and verbal English proficiency.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
- Ability to travel - 80 % travel, overnight, within territory or locations
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 30 kg.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience with aftermarket service operations and a strong commercial mindset, with the ability to identify customer needs and support business growth opportunities.
- Proficiency in using relevant business and service management systems to support efficient service delivery and process execution.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
