Danfoss is a Danish engineering group headquartered in Nordborg that makes mechanical and electronic components for climate solutions, power solutions and drives, including valves, compressors, heat exchangers, hydraulics and frequency converters. Founded in 1933 by Mads Clausen and still family-owned, it runs factories and engineering sites across Europe, the Americas and Asia, with large teams in Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Mexico, India, China and Slovenia. Its careers board lists quality, test and application engineers, production operators and assemblers, project and sales engineers, and student workers.

The Impact You'll Make

This is a unique opportunity to build and shape Danfoss' in-house tax function in Germany. You will play a key role in bringing critical tax capabilities closer to the business while creating a future-ready tax organization that supports growth, compliance, and strategic decision-making.

You will be the trusted tax partner for our German entities, leading tax strategy, compliance, governance, and risk management while collaborating closely with Finance, Group Tax, Legal, Shared Services, and business leaders. This is more than a compliance role. It is a chance to influence how tax is managed across one of Danfoss' most important markets.

As we establish this function internally, you will have the opportunity to define priorities, build capabilities, develop a team, and drive innovation through process improvements, digitalization, and modern tax practices.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead Germany's end-to-end tax agenda across corporate income tax, VAT, transfer pricing, and statutory reporting to ensure full compliance and business confidence.
  • Build and develop a high-performing tax team by coaching, setting priorities, and creating an environment of collaboration, accountability, and growth.
  • Partner with business leaders, Finance, Group Tax, Legal, Shared Services, and external stakeholders to provide practical tax guidance and support strategic initiatives.
  • Drive tax governance, risk management, and audit readiness to strengthen controls and support sustainable business operations.
  • Improve tax processes through standardization, automation, and digital solutions that increase efficiency and help future-proof the function.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong expertise across German taxation, including direct and indirect taxes, gained in a multinational company, advisory environment, or both. A German Tax Advisor (Steuerberater) qualification is highly valued.
  • Proven experience leading people and developing teams while creating strong stakeholder relationships across different functions.
  • Ability to navigate complexity, set priorities, and build effective solutions in a developing or evolving environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex tax topics into clear business recommendations.
  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.

What You'll Get from Us

At Danfoss, you'll join a company with a strong purpose and a commitment to engineering solutions that enable a better future.

This role offers a rare opportunity to build something new. You will have significant influence over how the German tax function develops, working alongside experienced colleagues across Finance and Group Tax while shaping long-term capabilities and ways of working.

You can expect:

  • The opportunity to create and lead a newly established in-house tax organization in Germany.
  • High visibility and close collaboration with senior stakeholders across local and global functions.
  • A culture that values collaboration, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.
  • The chance to drive innovation, digitalization, and modern tax processes.
  • Career development opportunities within a global and purpose-driven organization.

Ready to Make a Difference?

If you're excited by the opportunity to build, lead, and shape a critical function while making a lasting impact on the future of tax at Danfoss Germany, we'd love to hear from you.

Even if you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply. We value diverse experiences, perspectives, and approaches, and we're looking for someone who can help us grow and evolve together.
