About the Team

Are you passionate about designing great technology solutions and helping customers solve complex business challenges?

We're looking for an Azure-focused Solution Architect who can combine technical depth with strong consulting and leadership skills. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working across the entire solution lifecycle, from shaping opportunities and engaging with customers through to leading delivery teams and contributing to implementation.

You'll work alongside customers, engineers, delivery teams, and business stakeholders to design modern cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure. You'll help define technical direction, guide delivery teams, and ensure solutions are practical, scalable, maintainable, and aligned to business outcomes.

About the Role

As a Solution Architect, you'll operate at the intersection of technology, people, and business outcomes. In this role, you will move beyond simple point-to-point connections to design sophisticated, decoupled architectures. You will be the primary authority on how systems communicate, ensuring that every integration is robust, secure, and built to evolve.

You'll work directly with customers to understand their goals, facilitate workshops, and shape solution approaches. You'll lead technical teams through delivery while remaining close enough to the implementation to make pragmatic design decisions and contribute when needed.

This role suits someone who enjoys variety. One day you may be helping develop a solution strategy, running a customer workshop, or supporting a proposal. The next you might be reviewing architecture, mentoring developers, troubleshooting a technical challenge, or getting hands-on helping a team accelerate delivery.

What You Will Do

• Solution Design: Create end-to-end solution architectures across Azure-based applications, integrations, APIs, data platforms, AI capabilities, and cloud services.

• Customer Engagement: Build trusted relationships with customers, facilitate workshops, translate business requirements into technical solutions, and communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor delivery teams, providing architectural guidance and helping engineers solve complex technical problems. Integration pattern leadership, API strategy and governance, messaging and event-driven design.

• Hands-on Delivery: Remain engaged with implementation activities through code reviews, proof-of-concepts, technical spikes, troubleshooting, and occasional development work.

• Pre-Sales and Opportunity Shaping: Support proposals, estimates, solution assessments, and customer presentations to help shape future work.

• Architecture Governance: Ensure solutions align with architectural principles, security requirements, quality standards, and customer objectives.

• Cloud Modernisation: Help customers modernise applications, data platforms, and integration landscapes using Azure services and modern engineering practices.

• Continuous Improvement: Promote engineering excellence, reusable patterns, automation, and DevOps practices across delivery teams.

• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, technical leads, project managers, business analysts, and customer stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.

What You Will Bring

• Strong experience designing and delivering solutions on Microsoft Azure.

• A thorough understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns and the ability to apply them to real-world scenarios.

• A broad technical background across application development, cloud platforms, APIs, integration, data, and modern engineering practices.

• Experience leading technical teams and providing architectural guidance in a delivery environment.

• Ability to engage confidently with customers and facilitate technical and business discussions.

• Experience supporting solution shaping, estimation, pre-sales activities, or proposal development.

• Hands-on software engineering experience in technologies such as .NET, C#, Azure services, APIs, or related Microsoft technologies.

• Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles, security, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.

• Experience working in Agile delivery environments and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

• A pragmatic mindset and an ability to balance architectural ideals with delivery realities.

• Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for helping customers succeed.
