Professional Services Engineer

About The Job:

The Professional Services Engineer is responsible for delivering technical

implementation, consulting, optimization, and customer enablement services for DDN

high-performance data infrastructure. The role supports customers throughout the

lifecycle of their environments, from planning and installation through configuration,

performance tuning, knowledge transfer, and ongoing optimization.

The role requires strong hands-on expertise across DDN storage platforms,

EXAScaler/Lustre file systems, Linux, high-speed networking, and data-centre

infrastructure. The engineer works closely with customers, Sales, Support, Product

Engineering, and other Professional Services team members to deliver successful

projects.

What Will You Do:

• Plan and execute customer installations, upgrades, expansions, migrations, and

system health checks.

• Perform hardware installation activities, including inventory verification, rackand-stack, cabling, power-on, and hardware health checks.
• Install and configure DDN storage systems, EXAScaler file systems, DDN Insight,

and related software components.

• Configure file systems, client connectivity, authentication, networking,

monitoring, and high-availability features.

• Conduct performance benchmarking, analysis, tuning, and capacity or

infrastructure assessments.

• Troubleshoot complex hardware, operating-system, networking, file-system, and

performance issues.

• Coordinate with DDN Support and Engineering teams for escalations, defects,

replacement parts, and advanced technical resolution.

What Will You Bring:

• Validate customer environments against implementation prerequisites,

including rack space, power, cooling, network connectivity, IP addressing, DNS,

NTP, and remote access requirements.

• Lead or contribute to implementation schedules, risk and mitigation plans,

acceptance testing, handover, and customer sign-off.

• Deliver customer demonstrations, technical workshops, and knowledge-transfer

sessions.

• Produce installation documentation, configuration records, health-check

reports, test results, and technical recommendations.

• Maintain accurate project, customer, and installed-base information.
• Travel to customer sites when required and provide remote implementation

support across regional and international time zones.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering,

Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, storage, systems

administration, data-centre operations, or a related field.

• Hands-on experience with Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience implementing enterprise storage, HPC, AI, or high-performance

computing environments.

• Strong understanding of IP networking, Ethernet, InfiniBand or other high-speed

interconnects.

• Experience with file systems such as Lustre, NFS, or parallel file systems (gpfs).
• Ability to read system logs, interpret performance data, and troubleshoot issues

methodically.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed

technical teams.

• Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites
