Dealview Technologies is a financial data company that operates the DealX platform for sharing and using structured credit data. Its products serve markets such as CLO and CMBS analysis and are marketed through Morningstar Credit, and the company hires full stack engineers, business analysts and data analysts. The company is headquartered in Moka, Mauritius, with an office in Cape Town, South Africa.

StructureIt is a growing software consultancy in the capital markets, with offices in the UK, South Africa, Mauritius, India and New Zealand. We are trusted partners that help our customers in the Commercial Real Estate and Credit Markets leverage technology to unlock value throughout their business. Our mission is to deliver high-quality and robust software that quickly solves customer pain points while keeping them in control throughout the engagement.

Main focus of the role

We are looking for a self-starting Senior Full Stack Engineer with deep experience in C# and .NET, and in Angular or React. You lead the design and delivery of complex systems and features, and you set the technical approach that other engineers build on. The role is client-facing. You take a client requirement and turn it into software that is secure, maintainable and fit for the business it serves.

The role is based in South Africa, in Johannesburg, Cape Town or remote. You will report to a Technical People Lead and work with distributed teams in London, New Zealand, India and the US. Expect to work on more than one engagement, and expect the mix to change as our client work changes.

You will also use AI every day. Our engineers use AI coding tools such as Claude Code to design, write, test and review code. We work within an approved toolset, and you stay accountable for every line that carries your name. We expect you to arrive able to do this well, to review AI-generated code at least as hard as your own, and to know when human judgement must lead.

What you’ll do

The work falls into five areas. The first three take most of your time.

  • Design the system
    • Lead the design of complex systems and features, and define the technical approach for the team
    • Select and justify the tools, languages and frameworks for each project
    • Design systems with clear boundaries, consistent patterns and good documentation, so that people and AI tools can extend them safely
    • Lead schema and data model design, and choose the database technology that fits the problem
    • Document architecture for technical and non-technical readers
  • Build across the stack
    • Lead service-oriented backend design in C# and .NET, including API versioning, distributed systems patterns and secure-by-design architecture
    • Architect complex front ends in Angular or React, and hold the team to accessibility and performance standards
    • Use AI tools to design, write, test and review code, and treat prompt design as a core technical skill
    • Review AI-assisted code for maintainability, security, architectural fit and domain accuracy, and challenge output you do not fully understand
    • Lead the migration of legacy applications to modern technologies and infrastructure
  • Ship it safely
    • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines with quality gates, contract testing and rollout strategies such as feature flags and blue-green deployment
    • Define test strategies across components, so that automated tests stay reliable, fast and meaningful
    • Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, compliant and cost-effective
    • Define SLOs and SLIs, and use distributed tracing and telemetry to diagnose system-wide issues
  • Work with the client
    • Lead technical conversations with clients and stakeholders, and explain trade-offs at the right level of detail
    • Work with analysts, product owners and project managers to shape scope and delivery phases based on technical feasibility
    • Break complex problems into small, well-defined tickets with clear outcomes, dependencies and decision context
    • Know when to move fast with AI and when to slow down for critical logic, security, compliance or domain-sensitive work
  • Help others grow
    • Mentor engineers across experience levels through pairing, code review and feedback they can act on
    • Coach others on safe and effective AI use, including prompt quality, output validation and debugging AI-assisted code
    • Help define and enforce team standards for AI use, covering review, documentation, traceability and quality thresholds
    • Add reusable prompts, workflows and patterns to our Skills Library, so that knowledge does not sit with one person

To fly in your role, you’ll need

  • A minimum of seven years working experience as a software engineer
  • Extensive commercial experience in C# and .NET
  • Production experience with Angular or React
  • At least one system you designed, shipped and supported in production, that you can talk through in detail at interview
  • Experience in client-facing delivery, where the client sets the priorities and you explain the trade-offs
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform, and with Linux, containers and infrastructure as code
  • Excellent written and spoken communication
  • Comfortable in an Agile delivery team
  • The discipline to manage your own time and stay in close contact with a team spread across time zones
  • Daily working experience with an AI coding tool such as Claude Code, and examples of where it helped you and where it was wrong
  • Willingness to work in an agentic delivery model, where parts of the development workflow are automated
  • Experience in financial services is a strong advantage, and Commercial Real Estate or Credit Markets experience even more so
  • The confidence to tell a client something they do not want to hear, early

We assess candidates against our Senior Developer role expectations. These cover software development, the delivery lifecycle, code quality and testing, databases, DevOps and deployment, initiative and accountability, communication and collaboration, and leadership and mentorship. Our full stack expectations add frontend and backend engineering, integration and quality, and system thinking.
