Dell Technologies is an American technology company founded by Michael Dell in 1984 and headquartered in Round Rock, Texas. It is one of the largest suppliers of personal computers and enterprise infrastructure in the world, shipping XPS and Latitude notebooks, Precision workstations, PowerEdge servers, PowerStore storage arrays and the AI factory systems that package accelerators, networking and services into deployable clusters. The company went private in 2013 in what was then the largest technology buyout, acquired EMC and VMware in 2016, and returned to public markets in 2018 before spinning VMware back out in 2021.

Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) builds the products that power infrastructure, solutions, and data management our customers need most. Our teams design and develop the hardware and software that connect infrastructure, accelerate computational workloads, integrate across the stack, protect data continuity, and deliver the platforms, applications, and diagnostics our customers rely on every day at enterprise scale.

Some product builders follow the rules. Ours rewrite them.

Within ISG, innovation isn't just about creating new technology- it's about challenging assumptions and reimagining how work gets done. Engineers define intent, author precise specifications, and orchestrate AI agents that execute at speed and scale. AI is embedded throughout our development process, helping us move faster, learn quicker, and deliver greater impact. Yet the most important contribution remains uniquely human: deciding what to build, designing how it should work, and applying the judgment needed to earn our customers' trust. When your products power critical infrastructure around the world, that responsibility matters.

We move quickly toward the work that matters most. We reward experimentation, encourage bold thinking, and remove unnecessary barriers so great ideas can become reality faster. Our teams embrace a customer-first, first-to-market mindset, transforming rapid feedback into better products and better outcomes. We aren't looking for people who are content with the status quo- we look for builders who question it, improve it, and occasionally rewrite it.

If you're energized by solving complex systems challenges, excited to work alongside AI to amplify your impact, and motivated by the opportunity to shape what's next instead of simply maintaining what's been done before, you'll find your place here.

PCB Librarian / eCAD Library Engineer

Our Electrical Engineering team puts the spark into the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production, and we are embracing AI to make that work faster and smarter. We work closely with designers, cross-functional teams within Dell Technologies, and suppliers to make sure electronic designs meet schedule, feature, quality, and industry-standard requirements.

What you’ll achieve:

We are seeking a PCB Librarian / eCAD Library Engineer to build and maintain the enterprise design libraries used for schematic capture and PCB design. You will create and validate library content in Cadence Allegro PCB Designer, Pulse Managed Libraries, OrCAD Capture, and System Capture, partnering with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering and with suppliers to deliver accurate, standards-compliant data from concept through production. You will also help bring AI tools and agentic workflows into our library processes to improve speed and consistency.

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a PCB Librarian / eCAD Library Engineer on our Electrical Engineering team in Round Rock, Texas.

You will:

  • Develop, validate, and maintain eCAD component libraries, including schematic symbols, PCB footprints, 3D models, and component database attributes
  • Ensure library data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with company standards, IPC requirements, datasheets, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) guidelines
  • Drive library process improvements by enhancing workflows, documentation, quality controls, and leveraging AI-enabled tools for greater efficiency and consistency
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, and suppliers to support component qualification, new technology introduction, and library best practices
  • Conduct library audits, verify symbol-to-footprint mappings, and support migration and integration of library data across eCAD systems and enterprise databases

Take the first step towards your dream career

Every Dell Technologies team member brings something unique to the table. Here’s what we are looking for with this role:

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of expertise in PCB design, PCB layout, and eCAD library development.
  • Advanced proficiency with Cadence Allegro PCB Designer, OrCAD Capture, Cadence System Capture, Pulse Managed Libraries, and large-scale enterprise component library management
  • Strong knowledge of PCB design methodologies, component packaging technologies, IPC-7351/IPC-2221 standards, and PCB manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Proven ability to develop schematic symbols, footprints, 3D models, and component databases from datasheets and mechanical drawings, with experience in PLM systems and library automation
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, combined with hands-on experience leveraging AI tools and agentic workflows to improve engineering and hardware design processes

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience supporting and managing large-scale enterprise component libraries, with knowledge of IPC-7351/IPC-2221 standards and library automation within PLM environments (Windchill, Agile, Teamcenter)
  • Hands-on experience applying AI tools and agentic workflows to engineering and design processes, with a strong interest in leveraging AI to improve hardware development efficiency and innovation

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $161k - $209k.
