AI Strategy & Governance Trainee

We are looking for motivated students who are finalising their studies or recent graduates to join our AI & Data Team as an AI Strategy & Governance Trainee in Helsinki.

We would like you to start your 4-month Trainee period in January 2027. Our goal is that as many Trainees as possible continue with us also after the Trainee period or after graduating.

As an AI Strategy & Governance Trainee, you will be a valued part of the team in our varied client assignments where AI & data is utilized in decision making. Your tasks can include, for example, finding out the customer's business needs and conducting workshops with the customer on the use cases of AI utilization that support them, analyzing the maturity level of customers' current AI governance and AI utilization capability, developing strategies for organizations to become AI-driven and and scale AI across the organization, developing the AI governance operating model, and helping to develop the target state for customers' AI , data and technology capabilities, while understanding the practical considerations of designing and implementing AI solutions responsibly.

Based on your background you can contribute also to other areas including data analysis, data engineering, data visualization, data wrangling and AI implementation tasks as well as get to know the agile ways of working. We can promise your learning curve at Deloitte to be steep, we will provide you with both relevant trainings as well as experience and insight from interesting ongoing projects with active support from your own buddy, people leader and the whole AI & Data team.

What do we hope from you?

Do you have the passion for working in close co-operation with business, developing AI and data strategies, AI and data-driven insights and governance models with a relaxed and motivated team? Would you like to deepen your knowledge on AI & Data management and strategies with the prospect of being a consultant in the area? Then you'd probably fit well in our team!

To succeed in this role, we wish you have:

• A recent master's degree or ongoing master studies from a relevant field (for example information and knowledge management, AI strategy, data strategy, economics, computer science, industrial engineering and management, etc.)
• Understanding of business strategy and how it connects to the utilization of AI and data, along with general interest in technology, problem solving and negotiation skills
• Some hands-on experience with AI solutions, for example through developing, testing or working with an AI or machine learning solution, giving you practical insight into what needs to be considered when designing and implementing AI responsibly
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions and translate complex AI and data topics into clear business language
• Enthusiasm to work with others, both with colleagues and clients
• Drive to develop your management consulting skills and strategic thinking
• Fluent oral and written skills in both English and Finnish (Finnish skills are required to work with our clients in Finnish government and public sector)

In addition, the following while not necessary, would be considered a strong advantage:

• Previous work experience from a similar position or consultative capacity
• Experience of working with, as well as interest to learn about, AI platforms and tools (for example Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI, AWS AI/ML services, or GCP Vertex AI)
• Participation in AI or data-related projects or personal initiatives that demonstrate hands-on curiosity for AI solutions

To be considered for this Trainee position, a prerequisite is that you are currently allowed to work in Finland, holding a valid residence permit if required.
