Sony Interactive Entertainment is the video game division of the Sony group, formed in 1993 to develop the original PlayStation and now headquartered in San Mateo, California rather than Tokyo. It designs and sells the PlayStation consoles and accessories, runs the PlayStation Network and its PlayStation Plus subscription service, and owns PlayStation Studios, a group of development studios including Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games, Guerrilla Games, Santa Monica Studio and Bungie. The business earns most of its revenue from software and network services rather than hardware, and its first-party titles are increasingly released on personal computers after a console exclusivity window.

Our role at SIE is to create and nurture the experiences under the PlayStation brand, a name synonymous with entertainment excellence and creativity.

  • Review lighting work regularly, offering both technical and artistic feedback to raise overall quality.

  • Ensure consistency in lighting style and quality across the entire project.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure lighting assets meet visual, gameplay, and technical needs.

  • Help drive conversations with Graphics Programmers regarding lighting features and improvements.

  • Manage lighting tasks, bugs, and priorities together with Production and QA teams.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve rendering and performance issues related to lighting.

  • Plan, assign, and review the team’s work.

  • Appraise performance, provide feedback, and support career growth.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe work environment.
