Lead Android Developer

Responsibilities:

• Working with the team across geographies to develop and enhance our Android Mobile app.
• Helping junior team members with their technical roadblocks and helping the team to succeed.
• Through leadership and bringing in your experience and expertise to improve our product.
• Collaborating with Product owners and Business stakeholders.
• Ensuring the code meets industry standards and being aware of Industry best practices.
• Communication skills - The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, capable of successful formal and informal communication, speaks and writes clearly and understandably for the audience.

• Operations - We support what we build. As a part of the Android development team, you will also be responsible for providing support as and when needed in case of production outages.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in Mobile technologies such as Android SDK, Jetpack, Java, Kotlin.
• Expertise in design patterns and cloud native technologies is desired.
• Excellent understanding of development practices across the Development/QA discipline is required.
• Excellent knowledge of Software Development - Involves knowing the general approach to developing software, including best practices, concepts, technology, and methodology obtained through formal training and/or work experience.

Test-Driven Development:

• Quality-forward development practices, with automation at the forefront for continuous quality.
• High-performing apps focused on a balance of data stored in the app vs servers to interact with end consumers, and continuous focus on improvement of that.
• Secure apps that adhere to best practices for information security.
• Ability to lead and be open to sharing ideas and best practices that you have gained through experience.
• Good knowledge of Cloud Technology such as AWS/Azure.

Good to Have:

• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle.
• Has proven experience as a Tech Lead delivering Android Apps.
• At least worked on one Android app from concept to Production.
• Knowledge of the airline business.
• Strong knowledge of AWS or Azure (Azure preferred).
• Strong communication skills and experience in presenting to leaders.
• Innovative and growth mindset.
