In this role, you’ll work with a talented team of engineers, developing high-quality software for impactful warehouse automation projects. You'll be more than just a coder: your solutions will come to life as you see them operating in real-time and engage with clients directly during site commissioning. Your work will play a pivotal role in transforming industries such as eCommerce, retail, manufacturing, exporting, parcel services, and more.

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

  • Software Development: Design, implement, and test software solutions for logistics-related tasks.

  • Code Optimisation: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure optimal application performance, scalability, and maintainability.

  • System Integration: Integrate various software systems and hardware devices to create a cohesive and efficient logistics platform.

  • Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas and queries for efficient data storage and retrieval.

  • Testing and Debugging: Conduct unit and integration tests, and debug software issues.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for software design, implementation, and deployment.

  • Data Visualisation: Assist in the creation of data visualizations and dashboards.

  • Support & Maintenance: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for developed applications.

  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in software development and the logistics industry.

Tasks and Qualifications:

SETTING YOU UP FOR SUCCESS

  • Degree in Software Engineering/Mechatronics or similar

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years professional software development experience

  • Honour Grads with project experience in C# .Net, SQL considered

  • Strong proficiency in a programming language (e.g. C#)

  • Experience with database systems (SQL)

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g, Mercurial, SVN)

  • Understanding of software development best practices

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Willingness and availability to travel to customer sites throughout the Asia Pacific region during site commissioning stages (up to 2 months at time)

  • Australian Work Rights: PR or Citizenship

Desireable Experience/Skills within:

  • The logistics industry.
  • Mobile development (iOS or Android).
  • Real-time data processing.
  • IoT systems.
  • Data visualisation tools
  • AI and/or Data Analytics

WHAT YOUR PROJECTS LOOKS LIKE

  • Collaborative team-based Developers working on projects encompassing software, configuration, documentation, customer communication and support.

  • Projects are implemented from start to finish, with developers performing the on-site commissioning. Projects will start in the office, before final implementation and delivery on customer sites.

  • Goldilocks” balance - just the right amount of travel to keep things exciting without it being excessively frequent, a software level that’s engaging to work on without being overly device level or overly abstract, and a friendly team size for collaboration. Projects conclude with delivering “real” physical systems with moving automation, not just an application.

  • Full stack development on a tech stack consisting of backend modules utilizing C# and SQL + configuration based building blocks. C# full application GUIs, and Blazor based web. Mixture of legacy + new development tech. Control industrial hardware devices from a logical level.
