DEMO Pharmaceuticals is an international industrial and commercial organization focused on the development, production and marketing of pharmaceutical products.
We are seeking a highly motivated International Sales Area Manager to expand our presence and drive sustainable growth in the pharmaceutical B2B sector. This role combines strategic market development with hands-on sales execution, focusing on partnerships with pharmaceutical companies and commercial representatives. Based in Athens, you will play a key role in shaping our international expansion strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve annual sales targets and deliver against the regional business plan.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with local commercial representatives and pharmaceutical partners, conducting regular structured business reviews to assess sell-out performance, inventory levels, promotional activity, and market coverage. Proactively identify gaps in partner execution and implement corrective action plans to ensure alignment with agreed commercial objectives.
- Negotiate and close contracts to secure sustainable business growth.
- Monitor market dynamics, demand trends, and competitor activities to adapt strategies proactively. Track and evaluate distributor KPIs on a monthly basis - including sell-out data, stock rotation, order frequency, and product listing status - ensuring partners consistently meet contractual performance benchmarks.
- Identify new business opportunities (products, markets, distributors) and develop financial and budget plans for market entry.
- Prepare and own the annual and rolling quarterly sales forecast for the assigned territory, broken down by product, customer, and market. Forecasts must be grounded in distributor sell-out data, order history, market seasonality, pipeline launches, and tender calendars, and submitted to management according to agreed cycles.
- Monitor forecast accuracy on a monthly basis, analyse variances between projected and actual sales, and communicate any significant deviations to management in a timely manner with a clear explanation of root causes and proposed corrective measures.
- Represent the company at international medical congresses, trade fairs, and industry events.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure alignment with payment terms and with Regulatory Affairs to support product registrations.
- Contribute to the definition of pricing and communication strategies based on market insights.
- Continuously improve customer experience and strengthen the company’s reputation in assigned territories.
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in international pharmaceutical sales, B2B distribution, Business Development or similar role.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Solid understanding of pharmaceutical markets and regulatory environment.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with ability to interpret market data and translate into strategy; demonstrated experience in sales forecasting, pipeline management, and variance analysis across multi-product, multi-country portfolios.
- Languages: Fluency in English (additional European languages are an advantage).
- Travel: Willingness to travel frequently.
Benefits
The company offers competitive remuneration, continuous learning and development opportunities, and a friendly and challenging working environment.
