CNC Operator

Stabilus is a global leader in the production of gas springs and dampers on five continents. This position will be located at Ace Controls, a Stabilus company, a leader in the field of industrial damping technology. The company’s portfolio includes automation, control, motion control, vibration control and safety products We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join our Team. This role has the responsibility and authority to help us produce component pieces which we put together to produce quality industrial shock absorbers by performing the following duties.

We are looking for long-term employees and offer hands-on training. We have an open position on our 1st shift which runs from 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday. There are opportunities for overtime on Fridays as needed.

Summary: Sets up and changes over as well as operates various machines including the following: single and multi-spindle drill presses, punch press, mills, lathes, thread tappers, broach reaming, cut-off machines, bending and straightening presses. Sets up, changes over and runs complicated jigs on close tolerance operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.

• Sets up and makes necessary adjustments to equipment

• Programs CNC machines

• Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.

• Performs deburring operations on machined parts.

• Records quality control/assurances information.

• Reads complex inspection equipment and determines the appropriate go/no go gages, ring gages, height gages, plug gages, micrometers, veneer gages.

• Responsible for quality levels of operations performed.

• Performs complete preventative maintenance of machines.

• Provides support to new employees and B operators regarding machining techniques

• Responsible for the proper documentation production records and other documentation.

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

• Three years minimum relevant experience

• Ability to read and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

• Ability to understand and work with G&M codes

• Ability to perform complex mathematical processes and analyze results to execute corrective action.

• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

• Analytical skills to determine when a machine goes out of calibration.
