Role Description

• The Assistant Vice President (AVP) - L3 Authorization Support Engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical support, engineering expertise, and operational stability for the bank's Authorization and Access Control platforms. The role serves as the highest level of support for complex production incidents, ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and resilience of critical authorization services that underpin multiple business applications and banking operations.
• The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise, problem-solving capabilities, and engineering excellence to maintain service stability while driving continuous improvement, automation, and modernization initiatives across the authorization ecosystem.

Your key responsibilities

Production Support & Incident Management

• Provide Level 3 (L3) support for critical Authorization and Access Management platforms.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for high-severity production incidents.
• Ensure rapid incident resolution to minimize impact on business operations and client-facing services.
• Participate in major incident bridges and provide technical leadership during crisis situations.
• Drive problem management activities and implement permanent corrective actions.

Engineering & Solution Development

• Design, develop, and implement engineering solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
• Build scalable, resilient, and maintainable solutions for authorization services.
• Develop automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Ensure engineering solutions adhere to security, compliance, and architectural standards.
• Participate in platform modernization and technical debt reduction initiatives.

Platform Reliability & Resilience

• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities across the authorization landscape.
• Build reliability, stability, and resiliency into services through robust design and testing practices.
• Perform proactive capacity planning and risk assessments.
• Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability requirements.

Governance & Technical Leadership

• Review engineering designs, code quality, and implementation approaches.
• Promote engineering best practices and operational excellence within the team.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across support and development teams.
• Drive standardization and adoption of reusable engineering patterns.

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, security teams, and business stakeholders.
• Communicate technical issues and remediation plans effectively to management and senior stakeholders.
• Partner with regional and global teams to ensure seamless operational support coverage.
• Work closely with vendors while maintaining ownership of critical internal processes and controls.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement automation initiatives.
• Drive reduction in recurring incidents through preventive engineering measures.
• Contribute to strategic transformation and platform enhancement programs.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to authorization and access control services.

Your skills and experience

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM), Authorization, or Access Control platforms.
• Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise applications.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Experience with automation and scripting.
• Knowledge of system integration, authentication, and authorization concepts.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms.
• Strong understanding of production support processes and ITIL practices.
• Have Knowledge on SDLC and Defect code fixation capabilities
• Have Knowledge on databases > Oracle, Redis, Languages as > Java, Angular python, Cloud infra knowledge, knowledge on K8, GIT,
• Have knowledge or experience on Monitoring tools like Splunk, New relic, Geneos, control M, Cloud watch

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in Application Support, Infrastructure Engineering, or Authorization Management platforms.
• Experience working within global enterprise environments, preferably in Financial Services.

Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
