  • Translate business, service and network requirements into practical, reusable automation designs together with domain experts, customers, Product Owners and engineering teams.
  • Contribute to architecture and design reviews and support consistency, lifecycle management and versioning across automation components and interfaces.
  • Stay hands-on by implementing and reviewing network automation components and scripts in Python and Java.
  • Implement service workflows and integrations using technologies such as YANG, YAML, JSON and RESTful APIs; TOSCA or BPMN may be used where applicable.
  • Support engineering quality and technical alignment across distributed teams using Git, CI/CD, testing, DevOps and Agile ways of working.

Qualifications

Architecture & Design

  • Strong experience in designing and developing network automation or orchestration solutions, with an interest in taking architectural responsibility.
  • Experience with complex automation logic, service/resource definitions and reusable integration and interface patterns.

  • Good problem-solving and communication skills, with a collaborative and pragmatic working style.

Engineering & Automation

  • Strong object-oriented software engineering skills in Python or Java, plus working knowledge of or willingness to work with the other language.
  • Experience with technologies and data description formats/languages such as YANG, YAML and JSON.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and common software engineering practices such as Git, CI/CD, automated testing and code reviews.

Networking & Telecommunications

  • Good understanding of networking concepts and technologies such as WAN, LAN, routing and modern transport networks.
  • Experience with network automation, orchestration or service automation in a telecommunications environment.
  • General understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and service/resource lifecycle concepts.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Experience working in distributed international cross-functional teams and with different technical and business stakeholders.

  • Experience with TOSCA, BPMN and/or workflow engines such as Camunda.
  • Knowledge of telco operational processes such as fulfilment, assurance, OSR or ITIL.
  • Experience with application/container concepts, software packaging and configuration management.
