As our Catering Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for transporting food, catering orders, supplies, and equipment safely and efficiently between our central food service operations, five campus food service locations, and catering destinations throughout Charlottetown and the surrounding PEI area.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in being organized, and can manage a changing daily schedule while ensuring every delivery arrives on time and in excellent condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adapt to changing priorities, last-minute catering requests, schedule adjustments, and additional delivery or pickup requirements.

  • Load, unload, transport, and handle food, supplies, and catering equipment safely and carefully.

  • Verify delivery orders for accuracy, completeness, and proper handling before departure and upon arrival.

  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and safe food transportation practices throughout all deliveries.

  • Keep the delivery vehicle clean, organized, and in good working condition, reporting any maintenance concerns promptly.

  • Complete required delivery records, checklists, and other documentation accurately.

  • Communicate professionally with kitchen staff, food service teams, clients, and campus contacts regarding delivery times, order changes, and special instructions.

  • Follow all company policies, workplace health and safety requirements, and applicable PEI traffic laws.

  • Valid driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle being operated, with a driving record acceptable to the employer and its insurance requirements.

  • Must be able to provide a current driver's abstract as part of the hiring process.

  • Demonstrated safe driving habits and the ability to operate a delivery van confidently and responsibly.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to plan routes, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple deliveries throughout the day.

  • Ability to work independently, use sound judgment, and adjust plans when schedules or operational needs change.

  • Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and committed to completing deliveries accurately and on time.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to safely lift, carry, load, and unload food containers, catering equipment, and supplies as required.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced food service environment while maintaining a professional and helpful attitude.
