We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team at a busy outdoor shopping mall. The Operations Supervisor will oversee day-to-day cleaning operations and help ensure that all exterior and common areas of the property are maintained to a high standard.

This is an active, hands-on supervisory position in an outdoor environment. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions, including rain, snow, cold temperatures, heat and other challenging outdoor conditions.

Janitorial or commercial cleaning supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of cleaners working throughout the property.
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed according to established standards.
  • Monitor cleaning activities and inspect areas to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Assist with exterior cleaning, common areas, restrooms, parking areas, stairs, elevators, compactor areas and other assigned locations.
  • Ensure employees are using cleaning equipment and supplies safely and correctly.
  • Respond to cleaning requests, spills, garbage and other site-related needs.
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new team members.
  • Monitor attendance, punctuality and employee performance.
  • Communicate operational issues and site concerns to management.
  • Ensure all health, safety and company procedures are followed.
  • Work alongside the team and assist with cleaning duties when required.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for mall visitors, tenants and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This position is based at an outdoor shopping mall, and the majority of the work takes place throughout the exterior areas of the property.

Employees must be prepared to work in all weather conditions, including:

  • Hot and humid weather
  • Rain
  • Snow and freezing temperatures
  • Wind
  • Cold weather
  • Changing weather conditions throughout the shift

The position requires standing, walking and being active throughout the shift.

  • Previous janitorial, commercial cleaning or facilities experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and support a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the worksite is an asset.
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, reach, push, pull and lift as required.
  • Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely.
