Lead QA Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Client partnership: Work directly with our business-owning clients, not just executing tickets, but partnering with them to deliver real value from our platform. This is both a core responsibility and a chance to shape how clients experience our product firsthand.
• Quality bar for client deliverables: Define what excellent looks like before it reaches a client not just working, but seamless. Catch what isn't written down anywhere: gaps in intended behaviour, edge cases nobody flagged, quality issues a spec wouldn't catch.
• Testing rubrics and standards: Build the rubrics that define how agents and your QA teammates evaluate quality. Make magical a shared, repeatable standard rather than individual judgment.
• AI-assisted QA workflows: Bring new AI tools into the QA process as they become useful for test generation, coverage analysis, or catching regressions faster than manual review alone.
• Team organisation and throughput: Keep work organised and moving across your own queue and in a way that helps the rest of the team stay unblocked.

Requirements:

• 3+ years in a QA or quality engineering role, with ownership of test strategy, not just execution.
• Track record of finding issues outside of explicit test cases or written specs.
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable owning conversations directly with clients.
• Comfortable learning and adopting new tools without hand-holding.

Strong preference:

• Experience with prompt engineering has refined a system prompt for an LLM-based agent to improve output reliability.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM-based products and their failure modes.
• Has built or defined testing rubrics used by a team, not just followed one.
• Comfortable in an early-stage environment with shifting priorities and limited process.
