The Senior HR Data Engineer is the senior technical authority in HR Data Engineering, blending advanced HR functional and technical skill to design and build high-complexity data transformation, migration, integration and automation solutions. The role is primarily project-based and takes on the projects that vary to a greater degree - those beyond the recurring, cookbook patterns handled at Engineer level.
Working automation-first, process-first and security-by-design, the Sr Engineer leads design of end-to-end ETL / SQL transformation and migration and defines data-flow and advise on automation architecture - identifying the need for and defining new integration and RPA flow patterns. Deeply knowledgeable in HR data-design standards and best practices, the role serves as the functional review and approval for process-tower integration requirements, working alongside the HR Business Process Optimization (BPO) towers to define systems data-flow requirements and approaches.
The Sr Engineer brings deep expertise in the HR IT landscape and its interdependencies, understands how adjacent systems consume and react to HR data, and is expert at designing HR data domains for both operational processing effectiveness and business insight.

Your key accountabilities include:
- High-Complexity Design & Build - design and build high-complexity solutions on the projects that vary most from recurring patterns: end-to-end ETL / SQL transformation and migration (SME), advanced loading (Oracle (or equivalent) Business objects, HDL, custom templates) and automated reconciliation.
- Data-Flow & Automation Architecture - identify the need for and define new integration and RPA / automation flow patterns; set the architecture that Engineers build to.
- Integration Requirements Review - check HR BPO process-tower requirements and design intents against standards and best practices; serve as the functional review / approval for integration requirements and work alongside the towers to define systems data-flow requirements and approaches.
- HR IT Landscape & Adjacent Systems - bring deep expertise in HR processes and the HR IT landscape, its interdependencies and data-exchange methods; understand how adjacent systems consume and react to HR data, and actively support defining the business rules by which those systems react to incoming HR data based on each system's function and purpose.
- HR Data Domain Design - design HR master data domains - object definitions (per system-vendor definitions), field-to-object determination for custom fields, lists of values (mutually exclusive, collectively exhaustive), and naming standards and structure - ensuring data serves both operational processing effectiveness and business insight and analytics.
- Data Auditing & Automation - develop Python for data auditing to support HR Data Management (HRDM) Operations QA and migration activities; develop medium-to-complex RPA data flow patterns that pre-qualify data for further processing and loading and automate data reconciliation.
What are we looking for from you?
- Technical (advanced): advanced SQL, Python, Oracle HCM - or equivalent - (HDL, business objects), ETL, KNIME, RPA design.
- Architecture & standards: data-flow and integration pattern design; HR data-domain design (objects, custom fields, lists of values, naming standards); HR IT landscape and inter-system dependencies; data-design standards and best-practice SME; functional review / approval.
- Ways of working: project delivery on higher-variability work; consultative partnering with HR BPO towers; functional Workforce Admin / Employee Data Admin, Time & Attendance & Payroll, Compensation & Benefits, and Recruiting & Onboarding process SME; agile as core; security by design.
