Currently, around 4,000 employees are working at CARIAD on the digital transformation of the car. CARIAD is working intensively on the software and technology platform for Premium Platform Electric (PPE). The first vehicles based on PPE will be the electric Porsche Macan and Audi Q6 e-tron. At the core of CARIAD is the development of the unified and scalable software and technology platform E³ 2.0 for all Group brands. E³ stands for ‘end to end electronics architecture’. The new software and technology platform is built from scratch and will be used first at the end of 2024 in Artemis, the lighthouse project of Audi. As of 2026, E³ 2.0 is due to be scaled by the Volkswagen brand with Trinity in the volume segment.

Backend Developer for DLCM Control Center
Role Overview
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will play a key role in designing and evolving the automated campaign management service within the DLCM Control Center-the central platform for planning, orchestrating, and monitoring large-scale software update campaigns.
You will build reliable, scalable backend services that enable fully automated campaign creation, batch orchestration, data load management, and integration with multiple enterprise systems, supporting mission-critical update processes across complex ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services for automated campaign creation, planning, and execution.
- Implement API-driven integrations with internal and external systems to enable seamless end-to-end campaign workflows.
- Ensure high reliability, performance, and scalability for campaign orchestration and tracking services.
- Contribute to domain-driven service design, focusing on campaign lifecycle, batching, rollout states, and automation logic.
- Collaborate closely with product management, frontend, DevOps, and architecture teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Support cloud-native deployments, monitoring, and continuous improvement in production environments.
- Actively contribute to code quality, reviews, and technical standards within the backend team.
Technical Expertise
- Strong experience in backend development with modern languages and frameworks (e.g. Java / Kotlin / similar JVM-based stacks).
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, service-to-service communication, and contract-based integration.
- Experience with microservice architectures and containerized deployments(e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in cloud platformsand managed services (e.g. Azureor comparable environments).
- Hands-on experience with databases (relational and/or NoSQL) and data consistency strategies.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production-grade observability.
